19:25 Sunland Park - Undernumbered @ SP
Geebeesbigboy (7) has been placed in his last three starts at this meet. He has been expensive failures in his last two but has ran well enough to win a modest maiden like this one. He’s been running over four and a half furlongs but was first past the post over further in December. His form is marginally better than last time out fourth Awesome Account (1). He’s had some tough draws at this meet. The rail is less of a disadvantage over five furlongs so has to be reckoned with.
This may be a spot to look for a price. Ringo (4) didn’t build on a promising debut second time out. He’s plunged in class here and is the one to fear. Not only running for sale for the first time but at the bottom maiden claiming level. He could come to life going for a bang in form trainer.
Martin Valdez is another conditioner having a fine meet. His Sapello Riddler (3) may improve cutting back in distance. His newly acquired stablemate Undernumbered (5) has run poorly lately, finishing behind Awesome Account (1) last time.
Off those runs, even his 10/1 morning odds don’t look generous. He now runs first time for his trainer here. Valdez has proved a few times at this meet he can get a tune out of modest New Mexico breds first time in his care. At the likely odds, he may be worth a small interest.

20:43 Sunland Park - Onefortheditch @ SP
Onefortheditch (8) looks a very logical favourite. He backed up a maiden win in January with a fine second at today’s level last month. Off that run, he holds Smartier (1), Bertani (4) and Fine Music (2). He should get a nice stalking trip outside the speed horses.
Of those that finished behind the selection last time Smartier (1) and Bertani (4) have upside going for a top trainer. The rail drawn runner now races with lasix for the first time. Bertani (4) is lightly raced and is improving.
Compelling Uncle (6) had been beaten by a couple of these before breaking his maiden last month. He did run a career best then and is not out of this if he repeats that run.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
22:04 Sunland Park - Loana @ SP
Dashingly (7) was made odds on for a similar race to this last month on the back of a stakes runner up try. She obliged but only by a neck from Foolish Delight (8) with Charlee Mae (3) in third.
The filly that duelled with her early on in that race is not in this line up. That may mean she gets it easier on the front end. She is an obvious wire to wire candidate at a short price.
Old rival Foolish Delight (8) has to be player, getting so close to her last time.
Brand Loyalty (2) was well beaten by Dashingly (7) and Foolish Delight (8) last time but was coming off a lay off. She has better form in her locker. What's Crackin (4) and Loana (5) are others to consider at prices.
What's Crackin (4) won a claimer in a fast time in late January. Loana (5) didn’t seem to stay at mile at Turf Paradise in December. She ran deceptively well from a poor draw in her last start in New Mexico.
Her trainer Bart Hone made a slow start to this meet. He’s had three victories and a second from his last four runners here. The five year has a chance of posting the upset or rounding out the forecast or tricast behind the logical runners.

22:32 Sunland Park - Higher Ed @ SP
Trainer Todd Fincher's pair will likely dominate the market. Diabolical Storm (6) has ran big in two starts at this meet. He followed up an allowance victory with a fine third in a stakes event.
The pair that beat him are top notch New Mexico breds. Now dropping in class, he will rightly take plenty of money. He is strictly the horse to beat. Maybe his stablemate Higher Ed (7) can get the jump on him. He is a four-year-old who is improving in a spell of well spaced out races.
In late January, he had Daux (5) back in third when winning a similar race to this one. He has tactical speed and his draw gives jockey Christian Ramos tactical options.
It may be biggish prices bar The Fincher trained pair. Ar Ya Weegee (2) has not raced since beating McThanks (8) in June. He has been working like gangbusters for his return. His trainer is having a banner meet.
In contrast, Dallas Barton is having an unusual barren time for him. His Antonios Mark (4) and Thunder Dome (11) have mixed it with some top state breds in recent races. The pair could make the frame if things break their way.

23:00 Sunland Park - Strike The Senses @ SP
The standard setter here is Regal's Charm (10). She improved massively from her debut to run third in a similar race to this one in late January. That wasn’t a deep maiden claimer but there is a chance this one comes up softer.
She looks a big player from on or just off the speed. Of those that finished behind her, some have upside. Ulooklikeuloveme (2) ran below the form of her fourth in a higher priced claimer in December.
Pop's Party (7) and Nettleinfront (9) both had trouble at the start. Like Ulooklikeuloveme (2), she may improve racing with lasix for the first time.
Regal's Charm (10) is beatable if any of the new faces step up. Sapello City Girl (3) debuts for a trainer who has farmed these low grade maiden claimers in recent times. Many like her were first time starters.
She is one for the shortlist for sure. However, slight preference is for the class plunging Strike the Senses (6). She caught a deep field on debut at Zia Park and had the worst of the draw second time out. Now she runs first time for sale. She worked well recently and now races with first time lasix. Her trainer has hit form after a slow start to this meet.
Like the selection, Lincoln County War (4) is likely better than her two career starts suggests.
