Wakefield Trinity vs St Helens Prediction: Saints to keep marching on

There’s a good feeling around St Helens RLFC at the moment - even more so after the recent announcement of a new four-year deal for Matty Lees.

In their bid to do exactly that, Saints travel to Wakefield this weekend to face the newly-promoted Trinity.

This follows an impressive 46-6 demolition of the Castleford Tigers last Saturday. I was at the game, and there definitely seems a buzz about the team this year - certainly our attack.

Yes, we have yet to be properly tested, but you can only beat what’s in front of you and there's been lots of encouragement to take from both wins.

Jack Welsby turned in an exquisite performance with a try and four assists. He was clearly enjoying himself out there and looks to be developing a great understanding with the halves Jonny Lomax and Tristan Sailor.

Another guy who continues to impress is young Harry Robertson. Playing in the less-accustomed right0centre, Harry has definitely added some much-needed strike to our edges. His pace and footwork caused the Tigers' defence many problems and he really does look like a player who is thriving on the big stage.

Wakefield kicked off their return to Betfred Super League with a significant win at Headingley over the Leeds Rhinos, followed by a narrow 14-12 defeat to last season's Grand Final runners up Hull KR. So this will certainly be no gimme…

However, on what I’ve seen so far, I’m going to predict a Saints win by 17 points or more.

It won't be quite the glitzy scenes of what is to follow on Saturday evening, as Warrington and Wigan represent the Betfred Super League in Las Vegas.

This game has created lots of attention across the world - and with over 10,000 UK-based fans travelling across the Atlantic it is surely set to be an historic occasion.

It's one of four games taking place at the amazing Allegiance Stadium - home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. Two NRL fixtures bookend the England Women vs Australian Jillaroos in what should be a fantastic showcase of our great sport.

Wigan and Warrington have previous when it comes to the States, as both clubs made history back in 1989 when they battled it out in Milwaukee in the first-ever rugby league game in the country.
