Barnsley had title hopes at the start of this League One campaign but they have been completely derailed by a poor campaign, culminating in five defeats in their last seven games.

They face a tough test in this midweek game as they visit a Northampton Town side who have won three of their last four matches.

The Tykes may not make many changes from their weekend win over Rotherham, although Joe Gauci was forced off in that game and could miss out here.

He joins Donovan Pines, Max Watters and Fabio Jalo in the treatment room, which could give Jackson Smith a first full start for the Tykes.

As a result 22 of their 32 league matches have gone over 2.5 goals and a repeat of that is fancied against this Town side.
