Lucky 15 Tips: Saint Malinas to break his duck

There are three race meetings scheduled in the UK on Monday, with jumps fare coming from Carlisle and Southwell ahead of the evening all-weather fixture at Wolverhampton.

14:20 Carlisle – Saint Malinas @ 11/10

Trainer Pauline Robson can bag this maiden hurdle at Carlisle over 2m3f with SAINT MALINAS.

The six-year-old was bought for £60,000 after winning a point-to-point in Ireland 12 months ago. He made his debut under Rules at Hexham (2m4f, soft) in December and finished second behind odds-on favourite Joecooker from the Rebecca Menzies yard.

That rival contested a Grade 2 over three miles at Haydock on Saturday and was not disgraced. Saint Malinas may not need to build too much on his debut effort to score now, but further progress is likely and he is taken to open his account.

14:35 Southwell – In The Age @ 6/4

Dan Skelton's IN THE AGE won a bumper at this track in December and may be good enough to defy his penalty now.

The once-raced point-to-point winner went off favourite for that contest and was brought through to win by Harry Skelton in good style, fending off a previous winner in North Of Richmond.

He can take care of Huntingdon scorer Nazare and the remainder of this field now, to make it 2-2 under Rules.

14:50 Carlisle – Fortunate Man @ 13/8

Jonjo & AJ O'Neill saddle FORTUNATE MAN in a Carlisle handicap chase over three miles and half a furlong as the JP McManus-owned gelding bids to go one better than when he turned out over C&D in December.

He was denied a short head by O'Connell that afternoon, and Sue Smith's charge is 2-2 since at Market Rasen and Sandown.

The fourth from that race also won next time, while Fortunate Man scored himself at Aintree on Boxing Day.

He has tackled a marathon trip since at Windsor, finishing runner-up, and, from just 1lb higher in the handicap now, can notch a Carlisle win coming back down in trip.

18:30 Wolverhampton – City Escape @ 9/1

The mare CITY ESCAPE ran well for Mark Loughnane when finishing third over course and distance at the end of last month.

She got outpaced at a stage in that race but ran on strongly late in the piece and was doing her best work late.

That was her first outing since August and she's entitled to come on plenty for it now. She is a three-time winner over track and trip in the past and is now 8lb below her last winning mark, so her time could be coming again soon.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
