New York Lotto Big Winner: No washday blues for Christine!

A down to earth Scottish gran will be buying herself a new washing machine after winning £40,000 at Betfred.

Christine McCafferty, aged 66 from Glasgow, spent just £1.60 on her four-fold bet on the New York Lotto.

The retired secretary opted for the numbers 1,4, 13 and 15, with number 1 her daughter's birth date - and 13 a regular choice as it's never been unlucky for her!

She said: "Firstly I want to thank Betfred. It's so nice to have this money at this time of my life.
"I'm opening two saving accounts to help boost my pension having just retired. Now I can get myself a new washing machine and have got enough for repairs or maintenance to my flat."

She added: "I've also just now booked a holiday in Lanzarote. I was there in November for three weeks and loved it so I'm looking forward to going back in April. I switched to Betfred eight years ago after a young lad I worked with told me the odds were better ... and he was right."
