Lucky 15 Tips: Frankie, Jennie and Billy combine at Newcastle

Two winners for the feature on Saturday and a couple in our ITV piece including a 5/1 shot, so a respectable effort without quite smashing anything!

For our Lucky 15 tips on Tuesday, January 21 let's go up to Newcastle for a late afternoon/early evening eight-race extravaganza on the Tapeta. The outstanding Billy Loughnane and Hollie Doyle are among the jocks taking part.

16:03 - Young Fire @ 16/1

The opener is a 10f Class 5 handicap for four-year-olds and upwards, and we're 'on' the co-topweight of three.

Young Fire is trained by the mighty David O'Meara at Upper Helmsley in North Yorkshire, and will be ridden by 5lb claimer Cian Horgan, an apprentice with lots of experience in Ireland but limited UK exposure thus far.

Our selection, a gelded French-bred, is ten years young but won an amateur's event at York no less in September off a mark of 72 and lines up off 69 today - having been a running-on fourth of twelve at Wolves last time 25 days ago.

He's won here previously too, and this is a very humble little contest. As I write he's a big price but the horse doesn't know that, does he? Might just have a little each-way single on this fella.

18:15 - Inspired @ 5/6

Six three-year-olds are slated to face the starter (1m), and half haven't seen a racecourse yet - including our selection Inspired.

The circumstantial evidence though is compelling. Clipper Logistics owns, Karl Burke trains, and stable jock Cliff Lee is in the plate. This is a Dubawi colt out of a Bated Breath mare, and connections are used to hitting the target.

Should be very informative but it would surely surprise no-one if this was a colt ready to open his account at the first time of asking, from such a successful and powerful yard.

18:45 - Penelope Valentine @ 9/4

Now for a 7f handicap at the basement level, and an in-form three-year-old Blue Point filly trained by Alice Haynes with Luke Morris up top.

Penelope Valentine has run two solid races since being sent handicapping. Contests at this trip at Kempton in September, then here just 10 days ago, have yielded two second-place finishes off marks of 58 and 59 respectively.

She again runs off 59 today and as Luke's been on board the last twice he'll have a great handle on her developing run-style, strengths and general foibles by now.

A wee bit of improvement on what will only be career start number six is entirely feasible and she's got a great shout in my book.

19:45 - Frankie's Dream @ 1/1

Class 6 sprint handicappers now, and a combo I don't think we've seen too much of in the past - trainer Jennie Candlish and in-demand jockey Billy Loughnane.

It's a significant booking for me, as three-year-old Irish-bred gelding Frankie's Dream has undoubted ability and has very much been in the thick of it in four runs since being gelded in September.

Three seconds and one win, at Wolves off 50, have followed. Last time out eight days ago at Lingfield he failed by just a length in a field of eight, doing his best work at the finish. That was off his revised mark of 53 - same as today.

This is a straight, stiffer galloping test in my view and looks sure to suit over Lingfield's tight turns, on the evidence of that last spin. I think Billy can get a cracking tune out of this one and Jennie (20% strike-rate in the last fortnight) can bag another winner.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
