Lucky 15 Tips: Horse Watchers are invariably worth watching

Happy New Year to all our much-appreciated readers. I tipped up four at Cheltenham in a separate piece yesterday and two won at around the 3/1 mark, so we begin 2025 in very decent order indeed. I hope you've enjoyed the Xmas and NY period (quite possibly are still enjoying it) and wish you the very best of health and good fortune for the year ahead.
My first very own Lucky 15 tips then of 2025 will come from Newcastle, and a nine-race spectacular that kicks in at 13:52. Good luck if you're playing, and as always, have fun.
Lucky 15 Tips - Thursday, January 2
Newcastle
13:52 - Come On John @ 13/8
Trainer James Owen raids from his Newmarket base, and he's a potent threat under both codes.
Come On John is an experienced campaigner and came within a head of taking one of these, over an additional 2f, at Wolves just six days ago. Connections come to the well swiftly once again as he's in such good order, and hope to defy a 2lb rise for that creditable effort.
Jason Watson gets the leg up for the first time and can get us off to a flyer, fingers crossed.
16:05 - General Admission @ 6/4
Andrew Balding trains - had a winner here yesterday, beautifully ridden by Hayley Turner - and once again we pin our faith in Jason Watson, who's on board.
General Admission ran just once at two, a fine close-up effort in a Kempton novice 85 days ago. He was running-on at the finish of that 7f contest, under Oisin Murphy, and this Newcastle seven is much stiffer in my view, which can help.
His sire Kameko won the rescheduled G1 Futurity here over a mile and that's where I see him being at his most effective, arguably; but for now this should be absolutely fine. Great chance.
17:10 - Sanat @ 5/4
The shrewdies from the Horse Watchers owning syndicate have entered this useful four-year-old Invincible Spirit gelding, and despite an absence of 135 days I have a feeling he'll be cherry-ripe for this.
He joined Mick Appleby from the Roger Varian yard in September, and was promptly gelded. Two 6f runs in the summer were very useful and the only caveat is that drops down to 5f today.
Hopefully that won't stop Sanat, as for me he could be better than his mark if the operation, and Mick's magic, has worked the oracle.
18:10 - Yaahobby @ 3/1
Another shrewdie in my book - trainer Antony Brittain - runs this six-year-old Kodiac gelding in his own, very familiar colours.
12 days ago here he was unlucky in the run over a furlong shorter, and had no luck the time before that either, again on this course. He's slipped to a mark of 49, and won off 51 in October.
Yaahobby is a standing dish here at Gosforth Park and goes well for regular pilot Cam Hardie. A bit of luck in running and we could be in!
This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £100 for your total £7.50 stake.
