Hibs beat Kilmarnock
Our first pick of four for Sunday is Hibs to beat Kilmarnock. The team from the capital were rock bottom of the Premiership not too long ago, but have shot up the pecking order following an impressive run.
Hibs play Kilmarnock after three consecutive wins and four in their last five. They beat Hearts 2-1 on Boxing Day at Tynecastle and should build on that with another positive result against an opponent with two wins from their previous six. Hibs are flying high at the moment, and that confidence will make the difference here.
St Mirren beat Dundee
The Saints are another team with confidence in their work following a stunning 2-1 win over Rangers in Paisley on Boxing Day. St Mirren took a 1-0 lead into the break before Danilo levelled on the hour. But there was time for one more twist as St Mirren struck a winner inside stoppage time to collect all three points.
I expect the feel-good factor to continue for St Mirren as they host a decent Dundee side who are holding their own in the league, but have suffered from a recent dip in form. The side from Dens Park have lost each of their last three and we’re happy to oppose.
Dundee Utd beat Aberdeen
While their rivals from across the street in the City of Discovery are struggling for reasons to smile this festive period, Dundee United have lost just one of their last six. The Tangerines are fourth in the league and took four of the previous six points available following a goalless finish at home to Celtic with a 2-1 win at McDiarmid Park on Boxing Day.
Aberdeen were joint-top of the Premiership and banked four points from the Old Firm not long ago, but they’ve since fallen off the pace following a collapse. The Dons enter on an extended winless streak, including defeat in each of their last two. We’re happy to oppose Aberdeen until they show us better.
Rangers beat Motherwell
We wrap things up at Fir Park, backing Rangers to beat Motherwell. The Gers suffered their fourth defeat in 17 Premiership starts when losing 2-1 in Paisley on Boxing Day. Fans are growing angry at the Gers' lack of consistency, watching their team fall way below the levels they expect, not just in results but also in effort.
Much better is required from Rangers on Sunday. Although a tough 90 minutes awaits at the home of the Steelmen, we’re adding Rangers to our accumulator and hope they learn from the mistakes of Paisley.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
