Riyadh won’t know what has hit it when Johnny Fisher collides with Dave Allen this Saturday, December 21. This heavyweight scrap takes place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch with Tyson Fury. The full set of DAZN, TNT Sports Box Office and Sky Sports Box Office will be offering the card live.

Here are my Fisher vs Allen predictions ahead of this potential slugfest.

Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen Betting Tips

  • Price Boost: Fisher in rounds 1-3 @ 2/1
  • Allen to be knocked down in round 1 @ 4/1

‘Doncaster De La Hoya’ Dave Allen has long been a heavyweight yardstick. The likable, brave big man has been in with all manner of opponents and always gives his all. Allen has fought the likes of Dillian Whyte, Luis Ortiz, Tony Yoka and Frazer Clarke over the course of a career spent at the sharp end of the game.

Noticeably, Allen doesn’t usually win when these big-name challenges present themselves. His biggest victory came over former WBA regular titlist Lucas ‘Big Daddy’ Browne, a similarly unpolished but uncompromising heavyweight. Fisher will be keenly aware why he’s been brought in for this fight and it isn’t to have his arm raised into the Saudi sky.

That will not deter Allen, though. He is used to being put in these situations. One thing he always does is go out swinging. ‘The White Rhino’ fights to win and his exciting style has made him a popular attraction on British shores.

Fisher has forged a similar reputation. The ticket-shifting talent from Romford is known for his all-action tear-ups and TV-ready style. A pro since 2021, Fisher’s fire for the sport was lit when he sparred Joe Joyce ahead of his 2020 match-up with Daniel Dubois.

Fisher’s huge fan following has seen him spend his career on arena cards. ‘The Romford Bull’ ticked off Wembley Arena, Manchester Arena and the O2 within his first four fights. Fisher has become a feature of some of Britain’s biggest boxing nights. Now he travels to the fast-growing capital of the modern sport.

Last time out saw Fisher pick up a signature win. The 25-year-old blitzed former WBC bridgerweight title challenger Alen Babic in a single round. Many had predicted a war of attrition in that one, given Babic’s own all-attack style. But Fisher destroyed the popular Croatian, earning a big night this Saturday.

You can anticipate fireworks in this one. Neither man is going to stop throwing punches until the ref waves this one off. Some have questioned why this is on the card rather than some of the glitzy names Riyadh Season events usually provide. Quite simply, because this will be a blinding fight for as long as it lasts.

I feel like it will not last long. Admittedly, Allen is without a stoppage win since February 2023, when he KO’ed Michael Bassett (no relation to the former England manager) in a single round. But his three fights since have seen a loss to Frazer Clarke and two four-round decision wins.

Fisher has not gone to the scorecards in two years and has only been the distance once in 12 fights (all wins). You get the idea that someone is getting shook in Riyadh on Saturday night.

This reminds me of when cinemas used to show cartoons before movies. Come for Kubrick’s latest masterpiece in the main event, stay for Bugs Bunny blowing Elmer Fudd sky-high on the undercard. The headliner will be cerebral and require a deep understanding to truly “get”. Fisher-Allen will be short, thrilling, violent and leave you feeling better for having watched it.

Fisher vs Allen Prediction

Bombs away and don’t blink, this one will be brief I feel. Who does that favour? I see Fisher as more explosive at this point in their careers. Allen can still bang, but he has been in a lot of very hard fights against some excellent boxers. There is only so much one man can take.

I think Fisher gets this done quick. I’m going for ‘The Romford Bull’ in rounds 1-3 of this one at Price Boosted odds of 2/1, up from 7/4.
