Tottenham hotspur vs liverpool

Before facing off in the last four of the Carabao Cup, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will lock horns on Sunday (16:30, live on Sky Sports Main Event) at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a pivotal Premier League clash.

Both sides were victorious in their respective Carabao Cup ties in midweek, as Liverpool beat Southampton, while Spurs edged a seven-goal thriller with Manchester United. Read on for my Tottenham Hotspur vs Liverpool prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Spurs' defensive injury woes continue as Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario will all be absent for Sunday's clash, while Mikey Moore and Timo Werner will require late fitness tests.

Destiny Udogie came off early in the 5-0 win over Southampton last week, but should be fit enough to feature here.

Conor Bradley and Ibrahim Konate remain the only injury concerns for Liverpool this weekend, while Andy Robertson is eligible to play after serving a one-game suspension in the Carabao Cup, and Kostas Tsimikas has recently returned from an ankle knock.

Spurs are 16/5 to claim all three points, giving them an implied win probability of 23.8%, while Liverpool are 8/11 favourites and the draw is available at 7/2.

Unsurprisingly, Mohamed Salah leads the anytime goalscorer market - as well as the Premier League goalscoring chart with 13 along with Erling Haaland - at 5/6, and former Liverpool marksman Dominic Solanke is the shortest-priced for the hosts at 7/4.

Liverpool to win @ 8/11

Things couldn't have gone much better for Arne Slot since taking over from Jurgen Klopp in the Liverpool dugout.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last 20 games, at time of writing sit top of the Premier League and the Champions League, and look set to claim another three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou's side are dealing with multiple defensive injuries and will have had a day's less rest than the Reds heading into Sunday's encounter. In addition, Slot's side are unbeaten on their travels this term, which will give them confidence heading to the capital.

I still can't figure out this Spurs side - only Chelsea (37) have scored more than their 36 goals and, surprisingly, only Liverpool (13) and Arsenal (15) have conceded fewer than their 19. Yet, they're 10th in the table.

Spurs' recent league form also leaves a lot to be desired, claiming just two wins from their last five. This game seems set up for another away win for the Reds.

Mohamed Salah to score first @ 3/1

The key to Liverpool's success so far this season is their 'Egyptian King'.

Salah has been involved in 22 of Liverpool’s 31 Premier League goals this season (71 per cent), which is by far the highest share of any player for a side so far this term. He has 13 goals and nine assists, and could become the first player in Premier League history to reach double figures for both before Christmas in a single campaign.

He also enjoys playing against Spurs, scoring 12 goals in 20 career appearances against the Lilywhites.

In fact, the 32-year-old has scored four in his last four encounters with Postecoglou's side, including the 4-2 win at Anfield last season. For a bigger price, I've opted for the former Chelsea man to score first rather than anytime on Sunday.
