Player Goals - Dominic Solanke (TOT) Anytime Goalscorer
After bagging a brace against Aston Villa on November 3 and scoring in Istanbul against Galatasaray four days later, Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke endured a five-game barren run for club and country before breaking out of it with the opening effort in last Sunday's 4-3 defeat to Chelsea.
The 27-year-old was only introduced in the 60th minute of Thursday's 1-1 draw with Rangers at Ibrox in the Uefa Europa League and thus should be fit and firing from the off at St Mary's on Sunday.
Southampton should represent ideal opponents for Solanke to boost his goal tally as the Saints possess the division's worse defence, shipping 31 goals across their first 15 Premier League games since earning promotion from the Championship earlier this year.
Martin's side were thrashed 5-1 by Chelsea last time out at home and were beaten 3-2 at St Mary's by Liverpool on November 24, meaning they have conceded eight goals in their last two games on home soil.
Solanke should get plenty of opportunities to add to his five Premier League goals this season, and I'm backing him to take at least one.
Player Stats - Dejan Kulusevski (TOT) 1+ Shots on Target
Tottenham's Dejan Kulusevski has been in the goals recently, netting Spurs' second against Chelsea last Sunday before coming off the bench to equalise against Rangers and secure his side a point in Scotland.
Prior to those games, the 24-year-old registered two shots on target v AFC Bournemouth, one v AS Roma, and one v Manchester City, meaning he has either worked the goalkeeper or scored in his last four starts across all competitions (three in the Premier League).
Like Solanke, the Sweden international should get a lot of chances to take aim on Sunday, and I think he can direct at least one effort on goal.
Player Stats - Matheus Fernandes (SOU) 2+ Shots
Next up in this four-legged Bet Builder is Southampton's Matheus Fernandes, who I am picking to shoot at least twice against Spurs.
The Portuguese midfielder has been a rare bright spark in a dismal season so far for the Saints and looks like a player that could be kept on in the Premier League, even if his side are relegated.
Fernandes is averaging one shot per game in the English top flight but recorded at least two in four straight matches against Wolves (three), Liverpool, Brighton and Chelsea (all two) before only managing one in last Saturday's 1-0 loss to Aston Villa.
Back at St Mary's this Sunday, I'm backing the 20-year-old to fire off a couple of shots in what should be an entertaining encounter on the South Coast.
Player Cards - Destiny Udogie (TOT) Carded
I'm ending things with a card for Spurs left-back Destiny Udogie, who has been booked twice in 15 Premier League appearances this season, averaging 1.3 fouls per game.
The Italian's last caution came way back on October 6 in a 3-2 defeat for Spurs at Brighton, but he will be tasked with trying to contain the mercurial talents of Saints' teenage sensation Tyler Dibling on Sunday, and that marks him out as someone with huge potential to be carded.
Dibling usually operates from the right-hand side of Southampton's attack, where he likes to run at defenders, weaving inside and outside. The 18-year-old has proven troublesome for opponents, as evidenced by him being fouled 2.2 times per game on average. He's exceeded that average in recent weeks, though, being fouled six times by Brighton defenders on November 29 and winning two free-kicks at Villa Park last weekend.
Udogie received seven yellows and one red in 28 top-flight outings for Spurs last season and I think we could see a card come out for him this weekend.
