Arsenal will hope to continue their resurgence in the Premier League as they host Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United at 20:15 on Wednesday night. This game, live on Amazon Prime, will be the Portuguese manager’s biggest Premier League test so far, and comes after they battered Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Gunners were also full of goals this weekend, racing into a 4-0 lead at West Ham before emerging as 5-2 winners - a result that keeps them in second place as Mikel Arteta looks to close the nine-point gap on Liverpool. Below you can find all the Arsenal vs Manchester United Stats, as we look to keep you informed ahead of all the latest trends and data, ahead of kick-off.

Arsenal vs Manchester United Stats

  • Arsenal have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six games
  • Manchester United have won three, drawn two and lost one of their last six games

Form Guide

After a bit of a wobble, Arsenal have got back on track with an impressive week of performances. They beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the Premier League and followed that up with a 5-1 hammering of Sporting CP in Portugal. Then, they scored five more at West Ham on Saturday, meaning they’ve now scored 13 goals in their last three outings.

However, stretching that record slightly further back, they have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six Premier League matches. That will give Amorim’s Manchester United some confidence as they look to secure a statement away win.

United are actually third in the form table over the past six matches, having won three, drawn two and lost one. Since Amorim’s arrival, they have drawn one and won two games in all competitions, scoring eight goals in the process.

Head-to-head

These two have quite the history. From Pizzagate to the 8-2 at Old Trafford, Martin Keown jumping in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s face after his missed penalty, and Arsene Wenger standing arms wide above the dugout - this fixture really has seen it all.

They’ve now met a whopping 240 times in their history, with the first collision coming back in 1894, when Newton Heath drew 3-3 with Woolwich Arsenal in the Second Division. Man Utd currently have the bragging rights, with 101 wins to their name compared to Arsenal’s 89. There have also been 50 draws, however recent history favours the club from the capital.

Arsenal have won the last three Premier League meetings, and if they win on Wednesday, they will have beaten their old rivals for the fourth time in a row for the first time ever. They secured a double last year as they won 1-0 in May at Old Trafford, having beaten United 3-1 at home with late goals from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus.

The Red Devils last beat Arsenal away from home in 2019 in the FA Cup, when goals from Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial secured a 3-1 win. Man that feels like a long time ago.

Goals & Shots

Arsenal are averaging two goals per match in the Premier League this season, having scored 26 in their 13 fixtures so far. That makes them the joint-second top scorers in the league alongside Liverpool, Chelsea, Brentford and Manchester City, with rivals Tottenham leading the way with 28.

Their xG sit at 27.53 across the entire season, putting them second for chances created, only behind Liverpool. They are therefore underperforming slightly in front of goal, but their defence is outperforming the xGA by 2.15 - but they have conceded 14 goals in 13 matches in 2024/25.

For United, they have scored 17 and conceded 13 this term, meaning they have actually let in fewer goals than the Arsenal defence that was lauded last campaign. Only Liverpool have conceded fewer goals than Man Utd this season, however their xGA sits at 21.90, so that may be more than luck rather than judgement in terms of opposition chances.

Going forward though, they haven’t taken their chances scoring just 17 from an xG of 22.08. If Amorim can fix those issues, he could take this team up the table, with Marcus Rashford now their top scorer with four league goals to his name.

Cards & Fouls

Interestingly, Kai Havertz leads the way for fouls for Arsenal with 23 so far, while Thomas Partey is the next best with 19. However, when it comes to cards, Jesus is the biggest offender with four, with Jurrien Timber, Bukayo Saka and Jorginho picking up three apiece.

Arsenal and Man Utd both rank near the bottom of the fair play table, as the Red Devils have got 35 yellows and one red so far, which according to the points system makes them slightly more ill-disciplined than Arsenal, who have 27 yellows and three reds.

Diogo Dalot has made the most fouls with 17, while Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez have picked up five cards apiece.

Corners

Arsenal and Manchester United are both lacking in the corner department this season, so I’d back unders if it came to it on your bet builder. United’s matches have had the second-fewest corners in the league, and they are averaging nine per match, five for, and four against.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have had the third-fewest corners this season in total, averaging 9.2 per match, or 5.4 for, and 3.7 against. Only Chelsea have had less than these two teams, so be wary of backing there to be loads of corners at the Emirates.
