Bolton Wanderers have an excellent opportunity to put another three points on the board in League 1 when they welcome Mansfield Town to the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Tuesday (19:45, Sky Sports+).

The Trotters have won three from their last five, while Mansfield have suffered three defeats in succession as they appear to have lost their early season momentum. Read on for my Bolton Wanderers vs Mansfield Town prediction, featuring the latest match odds and team news.

Bolton Wanderers vs Mansfield Town Betting Tips

  • Bolton to win to nil @ 2/1
  • Aaron Collins anytime goalscorer @ 7/4

Bolton Wanderers vs Mansfield Town Odds

Bolton are 8/11 to win this match, which gives them a theoretical chance of 57.9%. Mansfield are valued at 7/2 to take the three points, giving them an implied probability of 22.2%. The draw can be backed at 3/1 (25%).

Over 2.5 goals is marketed at 4/6 and both teams to score is on offer at the same odds.

Mansfield striker Lee Gregory has netted seven goals in the league this season, and he is 11/5 to score anytime on Tuesday.

Dion Charles has scored six in League 1 for Bolton, and the Northern Ireland international is the 7/5 favourite to find the back of the net in this contest.

Team News

The hosts are without Kyle Dempsey due to injury, while Chris Forino and Eoin Toal are also doubts to feature with their own respective physical issues. Striker Aaron Collins has scored in his last three appearances and looks set to lead the line once again, partnered by Charles.

Ricardo Santos, Gethin Jones and George Johnston should continue as the back three in front of goalkeeper Nathan Baxter. Randell Williams and Josh Dacres-Cogley are expected to provide width as the win-backs once again, although Szabolcs Schon could get the nod over the former.

Boss Ian Evatt could go with Josh Sheehan, George Thomason and Jay Matete in the engine room if he uses the same shape that was used in the draw with Cambridge United last time out.

If he decides to revert to a 3-4-3, we could see John McAtee brought back into the fold.

For Mansfield, they will be hoping top scorer Gregory will be okay to feature against the Trotters, having been absent since a 1-0 defeat to Wrexham last month. Ben Quinn and Stephen Quinn were both forced off in their 1-0 win against Stevenage in the FA Cup at the weekend and they are doubtful to feature on Tuesday.

After three defeats in a row in the league, Clough could decide to freshen things up against Bolton. The likes of Stephen McLaughlin and Jordan Bowery could be in contention to start as the Stags bid to turn their fortunes around.

Bolton to win to nil @ 2/1

Mansfield's three losses have seen them fail to score, which hasn't been helped by the absence of top scorer Gregory for two of them. Their bluntness in front of goal will have led to a decrease in the Stags' confidence, which Bolton will be hoping to profit from on Tuesday.

The hosts have won three of their last five but were held to a draw last time out, so they will be eager to get back to winning ways here because they have a chance to make up further ground in the top-six race.

Bolton sit eighth in the table at the moment but they are only outside the play-off places on goal difference. After a slow start, Evatt has done well to get his players into this position, although some fans are still doubtful of their manager.

They have a great opportunity to put another win on the board against Mansfield and I fancy them to do just that. Bolton are unbeaten in their last five home encounters in League 1, winning four of them, and I feel as though this trend can continue against the Stags.

The home side do have the worst defensive record in the top half of the table, which did have me considering Bolton and both teams to score for my selection here, but with Mansfield's struggles at the moment, I believe they can record their first shut out since October.

Aaron Collins anytime goalscorer @ 7/4

One Bolton player who can have a huge say in the outcome of Tuesday night is Aaron Collins. The striker is in excellent form heading into the match as he has found the back of the net in his last two league appearances.

His scoring streak extends to three matches when you include the brace he scored against Fleetwood Town in the EFL Trophy, so the Bolton forward is looking sharp right now.

The former Bristol Rovers and League 1 Player of the Year will be hoping to keep up his goalscoring form as we head into the congested festive period as this could help his side catapult their way up the table.

Collins will be full of confidence ahead of this clash with the Stags, who themselves will be reeling after three league defeats in a row. I feel as though this is a good game for him to help keep his form going - I'm backing him to score anytime here.
