Just two meetings take place in Britain on Monday - Jumps fare from Plumpton and all-weather Flat action from Wolverhampton - after Ffos Las failed an inspection this morning.

Here's some Lucky 15 tips for consideration on a quiet day.

Lucky 15 Tips - Monday, December 2

  • 12:20 Plumpton - Julius Des Pictons @ 1/2
  • 13:20 Plumpton – Korus @ 3/1
  • 18:30 Wolverhampton – Oakley Boy @ 3/1
  • 19:00 Wolverhampton – Black Smoke @ 9/1

12:20 Plumpton - Julius Des Pictons @ 1/2

The action from Plumpton opens with a Maiden Hurdle over 2m4½f and it should afford JULIUS DES PICTONS a decent chance to make his mark for Jamie Snowden and Gavin Sheehan.

The five-year-old won on the Flat in France in January 2023 and twice finished second in hurdles events there in October of that year before departing for Britain.

He was back from 372 days off when debuting for Snowden at Uttoxeter (2m4f, good) on the first day of November, denied less than a length behind Joe Tizzard's Western Knight, who has franked the form by scoring since at Ascot under a penalty, where he beat a good yardstick from Nicky Henderson's string.

Julius Des Pictons should have more to come with that run behind him and he looks up to bagging this prize.

13:20 Plumpton – Korus @ 3/1

Fromheretoeternity has winning hurdles experience for Jennie Candlish and ran well at Newcastle last time out, finishing third. Preference in the Novices' Hurdle, though, is for KORUS for trainer Warren Greatrex.

He was unable to land either bumper he contested in the spring but improved for the switch to hurdling when second at Huntingdon (2m, good) at the start of last month.

He was held up by James Bowen in that contest and moved strongly between rivals to challenge late on, just failing to master shock 200/1 winner Kally Des Bruyers in the final strides.

If he builds on that pleasing introduction, he shouldn’t be waiting long to get his head in front.

18:30 Wolverhampton – Oakley Boy @ 3/1

Returned from a short break and sporting a first-time visor, OAKLEY BOY took advantage of a career-low mark to score at Lingfield over this 5f trip 11 days ago for trainer Stuart Williams.

The youngster was produced by Sean Levey as they turned into the home straight and he got to the front in decisive fashion, putting his rivals away with a minimum of fuss, with only the closing Forager getting near him late on.

He is rated 3lb higher this evening on the switch to Tapeta for the first time but that is offset by Connor Planas' claim in the saddle and the suspicion is that this two-year-old had more in hand than the winning margin suggested last time. He can add to his tally.

19:00 Wolverhampton – Black Smoke @ 9/1

BLACK SMOKE could be the answer for Mark Loughnane in this stayers' contest over 1m6f.

He won here over C&D in September and has been fairly consistent since, including when third over track and trip on his most recent start.

On that occasion he met some trouble in running and lost his position before staying on well in the hands of regular rider Millie Wonnacott. He races from an unchanged mark and should be in the firing line again.

A 50p Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the quoted prices, would return around £340 for your total £7.50 stake if all four won.
