Cheltenham racecourse races generic scaled

Jump racing holds sway across Britain and Ireland on Sunday with three meetings taking place across the afternoon. First off is Navan where the feature is the Troytown before they go at Fontwell and Cheltenham's November meeting.

Amongst our Sunday horse racing tips is one for trainer Kim Bailey who made an encouraging return and won the race two years ago. He looks set to have another good crack at it this year.

Horse Racing Tips - Sunday, November 17

  • 12:55 Fontwell - West Orchard @ 5/4
  • 14:55 Cheltenham - Does He Know @ 9/2
  • 16:00 Cheltenham - Block Rockin Beats @ 5/1

12:55 Fontwell - West Orchard @ 5/4

Many of Joe Tizzard's horses have done exceptionally well off the back of an absence this season and one of those was WEST ORCHARD, who is bidding to land the hat-trick of wins in the 2m5½f handicap chase.

The seven-year-old son of Westerner won once last season, but he has looked a much improved horse this term, winning on his return after a six-month absence at Plumpton off 82 before following up comfortably off a 5lb higher mark here last time over slightly shorter.

His jumping wasn't great last time out truth be told, but he put the race to bed after he jumped the second-last and left the impression he would be well up to defying a further 8lb hike in the weights.

He can win again before the handicapper has his say.

14:55 Cheltenham - Does He Know @ 9/2

Trainer Kim Bailey has got his season off to a flyer and is operating at around the 20 per cent range this season and DOES HE KNOW has what it takes to continue the yard's fine run of form in the stamina-sapping 3m3½f handicap chase.

This front-running type made a pleasing return to action when fourth to Senior Chief at this track over 3m1f last month. It was a sharp enough test for him, but he should be fitter for the run and the step up in trip will take pressure off his jumping.

A winner of this very race two years ago, this has without doubt been the target for the nine-year-old and he still looks well treated as he won the Grimthorpe at Doncaster off 1lb lower back in March. He handles any ground and will be in the mix.

This is an Extra Place Race, with Betfred offering 4 places instead of 3 at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets.

16:00 Cheltenham - Block Rockin Beats @ 5/1

Having a bit of time and experience is a good advantage to have in these bumpers and, with that in mind, the sole five-year-old in the field BLOCK ROCKIN BEATS can come out on top in the finale.

The son of Sageburg won an Irish point at the third time of asking, while he impressed on his rules debut when beating a competitive field in a course-and-distance bumper last month.

He was a half-length too strong for the reopposing Fortune De Mer in that contest and is 1lb better off than that rival here.
