Strictly Odds 2024: Is it almost Shayne Ward’s time to go?

Week seven of Strictly Come Dancing brought a new twist with its first-ever "Icons Week," where contestants paid homage to musical legends. The evening saw JB Gill and Tasha Ghouri rising to the top of the leaderboard with perfect scores of 39, each delivering a powerhouse Couple’s Choice routine. JB impressed with a medley of Bruno Mars hits, while Tasha danced to P!nk’s "What About Us," both earning high praise from the judges.
Not all dances hit the same heights, though. Pete Wicks found himself at the bottom with a score of 22 for his salsa to Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust," as technical issues hurt his performance. Meanwhile, Sam Quek and her partner Nikita Kuzmin ended up in the dance-off, where they were eliminated after going up against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe. The judges unanimously saved Montell, leaving Sam to say her goodbyes in an emotional exit.
As we quickly approach the halfway mark in the competition, the series is heating up. Betfred’s Showbiz Specialist Kayley Cornelius is back, sharing her latest insights on who might be next to leave and breaking down the latest Strictly 2024 odds as the seventh elimination looms…
Shayne Ward @ 6/4
Odds of 6/4 suggest fans and punters alike see Shayne Ward's journey on Strictly nearing its end. Though he avoided the dance-off last weekend with a stronger performance, his competitive drive to win has occasionally rubbed viewers the wrong way, leading some to view his ambition as overconfident.
This has created a tough uphill battle for the former X Factor star, who’s had to fight to stay in the competition more than once. The intense atmosphere and pressure seem to be taking a toll, with Shayne now slipping down the leaderboard and struggling to keep up with his fellow contestants.
Wynne Evans @ 7/4
Not far behind Shayne is Wynne Evans at 7/4, making him a likely candidate for the dance-off this weekend. Like Shayne, Wynne's scores have started to falter, and his popularity may be waning. His score of 30 last week placed him in a precarious seventh position, leaving him vulnerable as the competition heats up.
JB Gill @ 7/2
Strictly fans were hopeful that JB Gill would be reunited with his original partner, Amy Dowden, but it’s now been confirmed she won’t be returning for the rest of the series.
Despite the setback, JB’s new partnership with Lauren Oakley has shown promise, with the pair achieving an impressive 39 last weekend. If they can maintain this level of performance, JB and Lauren might escape the dance-off altogether, though, should they end up there, they’d certainly be tough contenders to beat.
Pete Wicks @ 7/1
While Pete Wicks' technical abilities have left him lagging behind, he’s stayed in the game largely thanks to fan support. But with his performance quality struggling to keep up, the strength of his fanbase may be tested once again this weekend.
Following a lacklustre salsa to Queen’s ‘Another One Bites The Dust,’ Pete has faced criticism for perceived favouritism, and he risks being unable to match his competitors if his scores don’t pick up soon.
