Keyshawn Davis vs Gustavo Lemos Predictions: Davis can unlock his huge potential

Unbeaten hot prospect Keyshawn Davis returns to the ring this Friday, November 8 against Gustavo Lemos. The bout headlines a Top Rank card at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. Sky Sports+ will broadcast the event live.
Here are my Davis vs Lemos predictions ahead of this lightweight collision.
The Top Rank hierarchy has been excited in Davis since day one and it is easy to see why. ‘The Businessman’ won silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, 2019 World Championships and 2019 Pan American Games. Intriguingly, he lost in the final of each competition to Andy Cruz, now a 4-0 pro in his own right. Surely a money match is there to be made somewhere down the line between Davis and his rival.
But for now, the 25-year-old squares off with Lemos. The Argentine went 29-0 during an intimidating run on home soil, before losing via decision to another can’t-miss prospect in Richardson Hitchins on his US debut in April. That verdict was controversial and many felt ‘El Electrico’ deserved the nod.
While Lemos lost his unbeaten record in an official sense, he has been rewarded with another major fight Stateside. It is a testament to how highly Davis is rated that Top Rank are willing to put him in with a boxer who gave Hitchins conniptions.
Heading into just his 13th fight as a professional, Davis is already highly-ranked with almost every major sanctioning body. The WBC, WBO and IBF all have him placed third in their world ratings. Only the WBA have broke ranks, marching to the beat of their own idiosyncratic drum and omitting the 11-0-1 star entirely. Their loss.
Lemos himself is in the reckoning at world level, too. The Argentine puncher is sixth-placed with the IBF, ninth with the WBC and 13th with the WBO. Interestingly, the WBA are once again having none of it. Truly a law unto themselves, that lot.
Davis has been racking up impressive wins far beyond the usual level of a novice pro. ‘The Businessman’ has defeated former world title challengers Juan Carlos Burgos and Anthony Yigit along with ex-two weight champion Jose Pedraza. Now he takes on a hungry fellow contender who is coming to win.
Lemos will be conscious of the fact that leaving it in the hands of the judges is a risk. Anything other than complete domination is unlikely to play well with the judges. Davis, like Hitchins, feels predestined for success. A product as well as an excellent fighter. Only Lemos’ absolute best will be good enough. Even then, the prenaturally-talented Davis might just be too much for ‘El Electrico’.
Odds correct at time of publishing.

Keyshawn Davis vs Gustavo Lemos Prediction
I think Davis will stay on track for a world title shot by winning well here. The Hitchins fight showed the 25-year-old what to expect from Lemos. Even if ‘El Electrico’ repeats that performance, I feel like Davis can keep him at bay.
I think this one goes all the way. Davis does have power, as Davis and Yigit have found out. But Lemos is made of tough stuff. I’m going for Davis by decision at 4/6.
