We are well into the 2024 edition of Strictly and our Specials specialist is back with her review of last week and look ahead to Saturday's show.

As we push forward, Betfred's Showbiz Specialist Kayley Cornelius is back, sharing her latest insights on who could be next to leave and details the latest Strictly Odds as the sixth elimination looms...

Strictly Odds - Sixth Elimination

Week six of Strictly Come Dancing was a Halloween thriller, filled with haunting choreography, dramatic costumes, and some surprising leaderboard placements. This spooky-themed week gave fans everything they crave: gothic elegance, high-energy routines, and fierce competition. Standouts included Jamie’s eerie American Smooth to The Addams Family theme and Sarah’s captivating Argentine Tango. Both Jamie and Sarah dazzled judges and viewers at home, tying for the top spot with near-perfect scores.

However, while these top scorers celebrated, Dr. Punam Krishan found herself at the opposite end of the leaderboard, having struggled to regain her place since Movie Week—and, more shockingly, joined there by Chris McCausland.

It was a frightful sight for many to see Chris, who has proved himself to be tough competition since week one, score a measly 26. Yet with fans and punters alike backing him to take home this year’s Glitterball trophy, it was no surprise that Chris and Dianne bypassed this blunder and were saved by public vote, allowing them to dance again this weekend. This left Shayne Ward and Dr. Punam Krishan to battle in the dreaded dance-off, where, after a tense showdown, Dr. Krishan ultimately hung up her dancing shoes.

Shayne Ward @ 13/8

Since the start of this year’s series, Corrie star Shayne Ward has been vocal about his desire to win. However, this less-than-humble approach may be backfiring and could cost him his place on the show. His confidence has caused division, with some viewers seeing it as ego, which might explain why he found himself battling for his spot in the show for a second time last Sunday. At 13/8 odds of being eliminated, it’s looking likely he may once again find himself fighting for his place in the dance-off, putting his grit and determination to win to the test once again.

Wynne Evans @ 11/4

Another star who may find himself in a familiar situation is Wynne Evans. While he seemed to recover well after his “wandering hands” scandal, it was almost inevitable he’d face more trouble once the “easier” competition faded. If Wynne hopes to beat his 11/4 odds of being eliminated, he’ll need a perfect performance and all the fan support he can muster.

Sam Quek @  7/2

Sam Quek is just “getting by” in the competition. Though far from the worst scorer, she’s struggled recently to compete with the leaderboard’s top performers and seems on a steady decline. With no standout moment in the series so far, she risks becoming forgettable. As we’ve seen, good scores will only carry you so far this season, and without strong fan support, the Team GB star may be nearing the end of her Strictly journey.

JB Gill @ 11/2

The hurdles just keep coming for JLS star JB Gill. After facing the dance-off in week five, he suffered another setback last weekend when his partner, Amy Dowden, was unfortunately taken ill shortly after their performance and will not return this weekend. Luckily, Strictly pro Lauren Oakley has stepped in, but dancing with a new partner brings challenges. Many are now wondering if JB will be able to bond with Lauren and adapt to her teaching style as he did with Amy. Still, don’t underestimate the power of a sympathy vote. If JB gives his all on Saturday, he should sail through and hopefully reunite with Amy next week.
