Over 2.5 Goals Tips: 12/1 five-fold from Tuesday’s action

There is a whole host of football heading our way on Tuesday evening with matches coming from the Carabao Cup, EFL and abroad, including Serie A. It presents a good opportunity to build a midweek accumulator, and I think there is value to be had in picking matches that will reach over 2.5 goals.
I've gone for five selections across a variety of the competitions mentioned above that pays out at an enticing 12/1. Below you will find my over 2.5 goals tips for Tuesday, October 29.
Over 2.5 Goals Tips - Tuesday, October 29
- Brentford vs Sheffield Wednesday @ 8/15
- Lincoln City vs Northampton Town @ 10/11
- Stockport County vs Reading @ 4/6
- Barnsley vs Doncaster Rovers @ 4/7
- AC Milan vs Napoli @ 4/5
Over 2.5 Goals Acca pays at 12.8/1
Brentford vs Sheffield Wednesday @ 8/15
In the Carabao Cup, we have Brentford going up against Sheffield Wednesday in the round of 16. The hosts will be sensing a good opportunity to progress to the quarter-finals of this competition and I think goals could be in store on Tuesday night.
The Bees have been involved in plenty of games this season in which there have been at least three goals scored. Over 2.5 goals has been a winning selection in seven of their nine matches in the Premier League this season, including four of their five home games.
Over 2.5 goals also landed in Brentford's 3-1 win over Leyton Orient in the third round of the Carabao Cup, so I think we will be treated to some goals at the Gtech Community Stadium.
For Wednesday, there have been at least three goals scored in five of their six away games in the Championship this term, while over 2.5 goals has landed in two of their three appearances in the Carabao Cup this season. So I can see this trend continuing on Tuesday.
Lincoln City vs Northampton Town @ 10/11
Over in League 1, Lincoln City take on Northampton Town, hoping to build on their victory over Stockport County at the weekend. The Imps won 2-1 in what was their seventh game of the campaign that surpassed over 2.5 goals.
Lincoln were at home that day also, and there have been at least three goals scored in five of their six appearances at the LNER Stadium in 2024/25. They are on a run of three consecutive home games in which over 2.5 goals has landed, so I feel as though this trend is worth backing to continue on Tuesday.
The other reason why I think there will be goals in this game is because the visitors Northampton have seen an upturn in form recently. They have picked up seven points from their last three matches but only one of them saw at least three goals scored.
However, three of the Cobblers' five away games this term have seen three or more goals scored, and they have all come in three of their last four trips on the road.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Stockport County vs Reading @ 4/6
Sticking with the third tier, Stockport County welcome Reading to Edgeley Park. Both sides have enjoyed decent starts to the season and momentum is with the visitors heading into this one following their three wins on the spin.
The hosts are winless in their last four, but they are still a very competitive side, as they have managed a lot of draws in recent weeks. I'm expecting another good contest here, and one that should have no shortage of goals.
Reading have been involved in a lot of goal-filled matches when playing away from home this term, with four of their five trips on the road producing three or more goals. These have all been their last four trips on the road, so I can see this trend continuing on Tuesday, even if Stockport haven't been involved in many games including over 2.5 goals.
Barnsley vs Doncaster Rovers @ 4/7
In the EFL Trophy, League 1 Barnsley take on Doncaster Rovers of League 2, and both of these sides have started their league campaigns well. The Tykes are already eliminated from this competition after losing their first two fixtures, while Rovers need to win to confirm their place in the knockout stage.
One of Barnsley's cup matches so far has seen three or more goals scored, and that came in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United Under-21s. Both of Doncaster's EFL Trophy appearances so far has seen over 2.5 goals land, so I think it's worth backing the trend to continue here, especially with them needing to win to guarantee they progress.
AC Milan vs Napoli @ 4/5
Finally, we round off with an exciting clash coming all the way from Italy's Serie A. This match sees league leaders Napoli head to face a growing AC Milan side at San Siro, and I think we could be treated to a cracker here.
The hosts have scored in every single league game this season and over 2.5 goals has been achieved in seven of their eight appearances so far.
For Napoli, they have been involved in games that have seen at least three goals scored on five occasions in 2024/25, and with the form that both are in at the minute, as well as the quality of their attacking players, I'll be surprised if we see anything less than three goals on Tuesday night.
