Arsenal vs Southampton Prediction: Gunners to maintain unbeaten start

Arsenal will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run when they welcome winless Southampton to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon (15:00).
The Gunners return to domestic action after a 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in midweek, while the Saints were brushed aside by Bournemouth on Monday night. Read on for my Arsenal vs Southampton prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.
Team News
Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney, and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain on the treatment table, while Ben White and Jurrien Timber have emerged as fresh doubts.
Martin Odegaard remains absent with an ankle injury, however summer signing Mikel Merino came off the bench in midweek to make his long-awaited debut for the Gunners, so he could feature once again at the weekend.
As for the visitors, Jack Stephens remains suspended following his dismissal against Manchester United, while Gavin Bazunu and Kamaldeen Sulemana are out of contention for the trip to the Emirates.

Unsurprisingly, the Gunners are massive favourites for this game at 1/9, giving them an implied win probability of 90%. Backing a Southampton win has plenty of value at 16/1 if you think they can shock Mikel Arteta's men, while the draw is priced up at 7/1.
Kai Havertz leads the anytime goalscorer market at 19/20, followed by Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus at 21/20 and 23/20, respectively.
Arsenal to win to nil @ 8/11
Arsenal needed some late heroics to avoid dropping points against Leicester, but they followed that potential banana skin with a confident 2-0 win over PSG in the Champions League and they should be able to grab another win against their struggling visitors on Saturday.
The Saints are currently languishing in 19th place in the table, picking up just one point from a possible 18. Russell Martin's side have shipped 10 goals across their last four league outings this term and are now tasked with stopping an Arsenal attack that have notched 11 goals in their last three encounters at the Emirates.
Rather than back Arsenal outright - which has no value at 1/9 - I'm backing them to win to nil as the Saints look shot of confidence at the moment, and I have no idea where their goals will come from.

Kai Havertz to score first @ 4/1
My next pick is Kai Havertz to break the deadlock rather than anytime - once again, due to value.
The German international capped off another excellent display in midweek with a goal against PSG, and the 25-year-old has six strikes across all competitions this season.
I'm taking him to score first in this game at 4/1.
