Horse Racing Tips: 9/4 shot tops Tuesday’s selections

Flat racing comes from Bath, Ayr, Cork and Newcastle on Tuesday, while they go jumping at Sedgefield.
My horse racing tips from across the cards includes one for David O’Meara at Newcastle, who bids to make it third time lucky over staying trips.
Horse Racing Tips - Tuesday, October 1
14:05 Bath - Havana Goldrush e/w @ 9/1
Trainer John Flint can harbour sound claims with HAVANA GOLDRUSH in Division 1 of the Goughs Solicitors Commercial Property Specialists Handicap at Bath.
The five-year-old gelding knows this track very well and has run more good races than bad ones here, while he is also a dual winner over track and trip.
The most recent of those successes arrived in April for previous connections and he's been running some decent races in defeat of late in four outings for this handler.
He's effective on any ground and while the forecast going here, 'soft-heavy in places', may be a negative for some of his rivals, he seems set to be just fine on the prevailing ground.
He is below his last winning mark and should give a very good account under William Cox.
This is an Extra Place Race, with four available instead of three at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
16:35 Ayr - Jonny Concrete @ 9/2
The Iain Jardine-trained JONNY CONCRETE was a winner at Ayr in August, staying on powerfully to score over 7f in the hands of Andrew Mullen for the first win of his career.
He backed it up when he finished second to a clear-cut winner at Carlisle (7f, soft) towards the end of that month and then took on the Bronze Cup back over 6f in September.
The drop in trip didn't so much catch him out there as a sharp rise in class and he's worth another go at this trip from an unchanged mark now in this less demanding contest.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
17:30 Newcastle - Unique Spirit @ 9/4
It does rather appear a case of when and not if for UNIQUE SPIRIT in terms of registering an all-weather win at Newcastle.
The David O'Meara-trained son of Waldgeist is a maiden of seven races and has easily produced his best efforts so far since going up in trip to compete over C&D the last twice.
He was only just denied in third in a three-way go behind Doublethetrouble in mid-September, with that rival completing a double and then going down a nose at Kempton since.
Unique Spirit was then very unfortunate to bump into Different Drum as that lightly-raced rival found marked improvement for the rise in distance here a fortnight ago.
Danny Tudhope's partner has been nudged up a mere 1lb for that near miss and looks sure to go close again under bottom weight in this Class 5 contest.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
