After one defeat and four losses in their opening five matches, newly-promoted Southampton will be desperate to pick up maximum points as they travel along the South Coast to Bournemouth on Monday night (20:00, Sky Sports Main Event).

Team News

Andoni Iraola, along with Tyler Adams, is the only absentee for Bournemouth here. The gaffer is serving a touchline suspension, so will have to watch his side from the stands on Monday night.

"The team news is very much the same, I have just got to pick the right team to win the game," Russell Martin said in his pre-match press conference ahead of this one. That means Gavin Bazunu, Will Smallbone and Kamaldeen Sulemana could all miss out, but Jack Stephens could come back into the fold after serving his suspension.

Southampton simply haven’t filled me with confidence so far this season. They did well to get up from the Championship playing a certain style of football under Martin, but just as Burnley did last term, they are getting found out in the Premier League. The Saints are making mistakes at the back, and it is costing them dear. 

Bournemouth meanwhile have lost their last two matches without scoring, but those defeats have come against Liverpool and Chelsea, so they will be targeting this fixture as one to pick up three points in. With the talent at their disposal, and in front of their own fans on Monday night, I believe the Cherries will have enough to get the job done in handsome fashion. 

Antoine Semenyo to score anytime @ 13/10 

Since joining from Bristol City, Semenyo has done well at Bournemouth, but in fits and starts. However, after the departure of main man Dominic Solanke this summer, it appears that Semenyo has stepped up a level. He’s got a wonderful blend of pace and power and from wide positions is emerging as a solid Premier League forward.

Saints have conceded nine goals in the five matches they have played so far, and I cannot see their defence improving anytime soon, so it makes perfect sense to back Bournemouth’s emerging star to find the net on Monday night.
