BTTS Tips: Saturday 12/1 fivefold for the 3PM matches on September 28

Last Saturday we were eight of 10 for our selected teams to score. Dumbarton let us down, failing to score in the league for the first time this season and Rotherham failed to find the back of the net at home against Birmingham.
We have another fivefold at a price just a decimal point above 12/1 for the 3PM matches on the coupon as we go through our Saturday BTTS Tips here at Betfred Insights...

Leg 1 - Everton vs Crystal Palace
The pressure has not exactly been lifted from the shoulders of Everton boss Sean Dyche following a 1-1 draw at Leicester last week and this is exactly the type of match that will alleviate it somewhat or ramp it up exponentially.
Crystal Palace finished last season in great form but have struggled without Michael Olise. The loss of Leon Andreasen at the back is clearly being felt and Marc Guehi has certainly not been living up to the £75million billing that Steve Parish wanted Newcastle to splash out on the England international in the summer.
One thing the Eagles have shown is the ability to score away from home, having done so on every opportunity so far throughout this young season. I’m not sure anyone ever expects the Toffees to keep a clean sheet, so this is why we’ve got it as our opening leg of this accumulator.
Leg 2 - Portsmouth vs Sheffield United
A Pompey player has to score at home at some point, surely? They’ve found the back of the net at tough places such as Elland Road, the Riverside and Turf Moor already this season but in front of their own fans, they’ve only had a Luke O’Nien own goal in injury time in a game that was already over to enjoy.
John Mousinho’s side have struggled with the step-up in quality and have been punished with late goals. If matches had been 88 minutes long, they would have secured five more points and that is a worrying trend.
The Blades make the long trip down south as one of the lowest scoring sides in the division, yet on both their trips away from Yorkshire in the Championship, they’ve been on the scoresheet. Feels about time the Fratton Faithful had something to cheer but defensively, they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet so far.
Leg 3 - Watford vs Sunderland
This might be the game of the day in the second tier. Sunderland have been mightily impressive and their young side looks primed for success. They’ve scored 13 times in six matches and they’ve been spreading them around, no fewer than eight players have already celebrated finding the back of the net.
The hosts are also looking upwards and have secured seven of the nine points available to them in front of their own fans. They’ll be buoyed by Sunderland’s last trip away from home, where they came out on the wrong side of a five-goal thriller at Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth.
This could be as open and entertaining as that one.

Leg 4 - Leyton Orient vs Wrexham
Last year, the Welsh giants were a frustration for this column away from home, yet I’m going to the well once more despite their modest one-for-three record for this bet on their travels in the early part of the 24/25 season.
The main reason for this is Leyton Orient have been successful for this bet every time they’ve stepped on to the turf at Brisbane Road in both league and cup. I’ll roll with that record to keep going.
Leg 5 - Barnet vs AFC Fylde
Anyone who was reading last season will know all about my feeling on AFC Fylde. Every time I put them in, they would fail but every time I left them out, they would be a BTTS winner. It was like they were teasing me.
I’ve tried to exorcise that ghost by taking the trip up to their ground for their 2-0 home win against Gateshead in April, hoping to get some ju-ju back in my favour.
This game is between the two sides with the best records for this bet in the National League, so this selection is purely stat driven. Barnet have been successful in eight of their 11 games, with the visitors seven from the same amount of matches.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
