Blackburn vs Bristol City Prediction: Hosts can keep their strong start going

Blackburn Rovers welcome Bristol City to Ewood Park in the Championship on Saturday (15:00), looking to build on their unbeaten start to the season. Rovers have been defying the odds so far having been labelled as one of the relegation favourites heading into the term.
Bristol City will be looking to bounce back from their 3-0 loss to newly-promoted Derby County last time out, but they know that is going to be a tough place for them to visit. Read on for my Blackburn vs Bristol Rovers prediction, featuring match odds and team news.

Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 5/6 and both teams to score is priced at 4/6.
Blackburn attackers Yuki Ohashi and Andreas Weimann have scored two times in the Championship this term, and they are 9/15 and 12/5 respectively to score anytime here.
Bristol City forward Fally Mayulu has two goals to his name as well, and he is marketed at 11/4 to score at any point during this contest.
Team News
Ohashi looks set to return to the starting lineup for Rovers following Makhtar Gueye's suspension that he picked up against Burnley before the international break. We could be set to witness debuts from Todd Cantwell and Amario Cozier-Duberry on Saturday, with both players having joined the club on transfer deadline day.
Apart from the forced change up top, John Eustace could go with the same XI that drew with Burnley as they look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
Bristol City boss Liam Manning could opt for several changes after his side were well-beaten by Derby last time out. Luke McNally, who arrived from Burnley in the summer, could come into the defence, while their top scorer Mayulu could be handed his first league start of the campaign.
Blackburn or draw & both teams to score @ 6/5
Rovers have looked very good so far and I think they are going to be a tough nut to crack when playing at home this season. They have scored in every game so far and have won their two encounters at Ewood already, scoring six in the process.
The club had a better transfer window than most people would have expected given their financial situation, and in Eustace they have a coach who had to work in similar conditions in his full season with Birmingham City in 2022/23. He reiterates "togetherness" all the time, and you can see that from his players on the pitch already.
Bristol Rovers may have suffered a surprising defeat last time out, but it was their first one. Manning himself has assembled a strong squad filled with quality and on their day, can go toe-to-toe with most teams in the division.
This will be a tough trip for them but if they are at their best, they can make life difficult for the home side. However, I think Blackburn's solid base at home will continue so I cannot see them losing here, so I have gone with Rovers or draw and both teams to score, because both sides have found the back of the net in all of the home team's league matches so far.
Yuki Ohashi anytime goalscorer @ 9/5
With two goals already, Blackburn's Japanese star has settled in nicely to his new surroundings and looks to be one of the gems of the summer transfer window. Ohashi has looked bright whenever he has featured for Rovers so far and I think he will relish leading the line on Saturday, should he replace Gueye up top.
He is neat with the ball at his feet and he gets himself into excellent attacking positions which the Robins will need to be wary of after conceding three on their last outing. Ohashi will know that and he will look to capitalise on their current vulnerabilities, and I fancy him to grab his third of the campaign in this clash.
