There is a lot of footballing action to come this weekend, and that brings plenty of opportunities for a variety of accumulators. If you regularly read my match previews, you will know I like to tip goalscorers, so I have put together a four-fold of players I think can score in League 1 and League on Saturday.

Below you will find my anytime goalscorer tips.

Anytime Goalscorer Tips - Saturday, September 7

  • Paul Mullin in Wrexham vs Shrewsbury Town @ 6/5
  • Adam Phillips in Barnsley vs Bristol Rovers @ 15/8
  • Luke Molyneux in Doncaster Rovers vs Gillingham @23/10
  • Alassana Jatta in Notts County vs Accrington Stanley @ 6/4

Paul Mullin in Wrexham vs Shrewsbury Town @ 6/5

The face of Wrexham on the pitch, Paul Mullin is hoping that his goalscoring exploits for the Red Dragons can continue, having been prolific in both the National League and League 2.

He is waiting for his first goal in the third tier this term having made two appearances so far, but I fancy his chances this weekend. Mullin made a return to action from the bench last weekend after a recent injury, and he will be hoping for a start against Shrewsbury Town.

Wrexham are currently second in the table and unbeaten, while the visitors have lost three of their opening four fixtures. The hosts have an opportunity to move to the summit on Saturday and Mullin will be itching to help his side make that happen.

The Shrews have already conceded six goals so far, which would suggest that they are vulnerable at the back, and something Mullin can profit from to open his account for the season.

Adam Phillips in Barnsley vs Bristol Rovers @ 15/8

Adam Phillips is one of Barnsley's key players and he was the star man when they defeated Crawley Town 3-0 last week, netting a brace.

The midfielder has proven to be a regular source of goals for the Tykes, as well as assists, having managed 12 and six respectively last season. He gets himself into plenty of decent spaces to get shots at goal, and we have seen him score some absolute beauties over the years.

The 26-year-old is full of confidence right now with three goals already in the league, and I think he could be in for some more joy against Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Luke Molyneux in Doncaster Rovers vs Gillingham @ 23/10

Doncaster Rovers winger Luke Molyneux has had an excellent start to the campaign in League 2 with four goals in as many appearances. Like Phillips, he netted a brace last weekend as Rovers defeated Port Vale 3-2 away from home.

When he's in form, he is one of the best wide players in the division, and the excellent start he has had should bode well for the rest of his season. With the confidence he has right now, I think he has what it takes to break down the league leaders Gillingham on Saturday, who have conceded just one goal in 2024/25.

His goal tally for last term was 10, so he is already on course to surpass that total by some distance, and I believe he can reach the midway point with a goal against the Gills this weekend.

Alassana Jatta in Notts County vs Accrington Stanley @ 6/4

Alassana Jatta seems to be handling the responsibility for goals at Notts County following the exit of Macaulay Langstaff to Millwall over the summer. The Gambian striker has already netted twice for the Magpies in League 2, and he will be hoping for more success when they welcome strugglers Accrington Stanley to Meadow Lane at the weekend.

I fancy his chances to find the back of the net against this particular team because he scored and assisted against them when the two sides played out a 2-2 draw at the Wham Stadium last term.

He wasn't in the squad that defeated Swindon Town last weekend but his two goals in the league came in his last two outings, so he should be in line for a recall, as he may be key to Notts County's promotion hopes.
