Kobenhavn vs Kilmarnock Prediction: Killie in for a difficult night

After falling out of the Europa League, Kilmarnock beat Tromso to progress to the play-off round of the Europa Conference League. However, having struggled domestically, they now face a tricky trip to the Danish capital to face Kobenhavn on Thursday (18:00).

Kobenhavn's experienced midfielder Thomas Delaney has been ruled out and is one of several absentees, with Andreas Cornelius, Viktor Claesson, Jordan Larsson and Nicolai Boileson also sidelined.

McInnes' side got past Tromso in the previous round, winning the away leg with a Joe Wright goal after a draw at Rugby Park, but their domestic form is a concern.

A 4-0 away defeat at Celtic on the opening day may not have come as a huge surprise, but a 3-0 home defeat to St Johnstone was.

Even though they were reduced to 10 men in both of those matches, their coach offered few excuses and it is noticeable they have been struggling for goals.

Their hosts are unbeaten in their first five league games of the season and, having made it past Gibraltar's Magpies and Czechia's Banik Ostrava should be relied upon to keep Killie at bay and claim a victory without conceding.

Orri Oskarsson to score first @ 7/2

Kobenhavn's teenage Icelandic striker Oskarsson has started the campaign in fine form and he can continue that by scoring the opening goal on Thursday at 7/2.

After finding the net 10 times last term, he is already well on the way towards eclipsing that tally, scoring four times in five league matches and notching a double in the 5-1 home-leg win against Magpies in an earlier qualifier.

He was on target in the 1-1 home league draw with Viborg on Sunday and he can set his team on their way as they look to book a group-stage slot.
