Horse Racing Tips: Greek Gift can follow up at Beverley

We have a pretty quiet Tuesday on our hands this week, with just four meetings across the UK and Ireland and Flat racing takes centre stage as all four fixtures take place on the level. Beverley kicks us off and is followed by Nottingham, before Killarney and Kempton take us through the evening.
Read on for my three best horse racing tips for Tuesday, and they include one for Karl Burke who got off the mark when last seen and is expected to do the business once again.
Horse Racing Tips - Tuesday, July 16
15:00 Beverley - Greek Gift @ 9/4
Karl Burke’s GREEK GIFT could be one to watch in nurseries and she got off the mark on handicap debut at Carlisle earlier this month. She was badly outpaced on debut over 5f here but stuck to her task well enough back in seventh.
The daughter of Manga Grecia was an absolute no-show at Pontefract next time, but got back on track when sixth at Redcar after that and a switch to handicaps seemed like a very logical move.
Going up to 7f also helped as she was still doing her best work late on. History suggests that it pays to be up with the pace over the extended 7f at Beverley and she’ll perhaps need to be ridden more forward to come out on top this time around.
With her stamina all but guaranteed, however, there’s no reason that she can’t be up with the pace and a 4lb higher mark is unlikely to make life too difficult.

15:15 Nottingham - Ashen Glow @ 17/2
Three of the runners in this race are very closely matched on the form of their runs in a Pontefract nursery last week, so we’ve identified a different form line to consider.
Archie Watson’s ASHEN GLOW makes her handicap debut here and it’s reasonable to expect considerable improvement.
Her best effort thus far was a good second at Wolverhampton on debut, although it has to be noted that the form of that race isn’t fantastic. She got back on track with a reasonable fourth in a seller at Goodwood when last seen and an opening mark of 58 looks fair.
It seems unlikely that this daughter of Earthlight has peaked just yet and it’s far too early to write her off. Handicaps could make a huge difference to her and she can get off the mark at the fifth time of asking.
This is an Extra Place race, therefore Betfred will be paying 3 places instead of 2 at 1/5 odds.
19:30 Kempton - Drama @ 10/3
DRAMA could well be worth following at Kempton, as he bids to claim a second course and distance victory of the season. James Ferguson’s gelding is in food form at the moment and is well set for another big run.
He showed some good form as a two-year-old, winning a Windsor novice comfortably and finishing fourth in a valuable sales race at Newmarket in October.
The son of Havana Grey put in a strong finishing effort to come out on top by a neck on his penultimate start. Following that up with another big effort, he was just denied when second at Newmarket next time and is up a further 2lb as a result.
It could prove wise to keep the three-year-old on side until his limitations are exposed, as he’s clearly improving and further progress shouldn’t be ruled out.
