Austria vs Serbia Prediction: Hosts to come out on top in Vienna

Austria and Serbia lock horns at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna on Tuesday evening (19:45) in warm up for both their Euro 2024 campaigns. Both sides will be looking for momentum heading to Germany, but they will also be looking to manage their squads carefully, as to not pick up any needless injuries.
These two sides could meet in the knockout stage of the Euros, so this fixture gives each of them the chance to size one another up. Read on for my Austria vs Serbia prediction, accompanied by match odds and team news.
Austria vs Serbia Betting Tips
Austria are 11/10 to win this match, giving them an implied probability of 47.6%. Serbia are valued at 12/5, which gives them a 29.4% chance of victory. The draw can also be backed at 12/5.
Both teams to score is marketed at 8/11 and over 2.5 goals is on offer at 10/11.
Team News
Austria boss Ralf Rangnick is going to be without his captain David Alaba due to a knee injury, which is a big blow for Austria. Forward Sasa Kalajdzic and midfielder Xaver Schlager are also sidelined and will have no part to play at the Euros this summer.
Marcel Sabitzer will have a huge role to play at the tournament, but it is doubtful he will feature here after playing in the Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. All-time record appearance holder Marko Arnautovic should get minutes here after missing the last international break to injury.
Serbia manager Dragan Stojkovic has already made cuts to his original squad list, with nine players having already been axed. All-time leading scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic will make up an important strike partnership for the Eagles.
Austria and both teams to score @ 16/5
Austria head into this game in great form under Rangnick. They have won their last five matches, including against Germany and a 6-1 hammering of Turkey. They tend to be a team that are listed as dark horses when heading into the Euros and right now they look like they could be, even if some key figures are missing.
They have momentum heading into these final friendlies but after a couple of months, they could be a little bit rusty and Rangnick will want to fine-tune the squad so they are ready to take the Euros by storm.
Serbia will provide them with a challenge in Vienna, and the thought of this being a knockout stage fixture will certainly add an interesting dynamic to this friendly. Judging by how well the hosts have been in their recent fixtures and the momentum they have generated, I'm confident that they will win this clash in Vienna, but i do see Serbia scoring because of the quality they have up front.
Aleksandar Mitrovic anytime goalscorer @ 13/8
Which leads me nicely onto my second selection. I may think Austria will win but in terms of goalscorers, I'm most confident in Serbia'a Mitrovic finding the back of the net. The striker has 57 goals for his country and I expect him to add to his tally on Tuesday night.
Mitrovic comes into this international break off the back of an impressive campaign with Al-Hilal. Not only did he win the Saudi Pro League title, he finished the season with 28 goals to his name, and his tally stood at 40 across all competitions.
He will be fired up for another crack at the Euros with Serbia, and he will cause the Austria back line all kinds of problems, so I fancy him to score here.
