Nice vs Le Havre Prediction: Hosts need to win if they wish to finish in the top four

Nice welcome Le Havre to the Allianz Riviera on Friday night (TNT Sports 4, 20:00) in Ligue 1 hoping to narrow the gap on Lille in fourth place. Nice are currently four points behind their top-four rivals but they do have a game in hand, which is also at home against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, that could be vital come the end of the season.
They will need to take full advantage of this home clash against a Le Havre side that have failed to win in their last seven, though, as PSG will be a tough opponent for them to take points off. Below you will find my Nice vs Le Havre predictions, including team news and match odds.
Match Odds
Nice are 8/15 to take the three points here, which gives them an implied probability of 65.2%. Le Havre did win the reverse fixture 3-1 back in December and they are 11/2 to win again, giving them a 15.2% chance. The draw can be backed at 3/1 (25%).
Both teams to score has landed in 39% (12/31) of Nice's matches this season, as well as in 47% (15/32) of Le Havre's. BTTS is valued at 1/1 to deliver here and it is worth noting that it has been a winning selection in five of the visitors' last seven. Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 10/11.
Nice's number nine, Terem Moffi, has netted 11 goals in the league this campaign and he is priced at 4/1 to open the scoring on Friday night.
Team News
The hosts' main injury concern is Sofiane Diop, who will not feature for the remainder of the season due to a foot injury which has kept him out of action in 2024. They will also need to assess Valentin Rosier ahead of the game as he's been sidelined for around a month but was expected to return to action at some point in May.
Le Havre are going to be without Andy Logbo, who has been absent since November through injury.
Nice to win to nil @ 11/8
Given how the last meeting between these two sides went you may think I'm taking a risk in tipping Nice to win this match to nil. However, they have come a long way since that defeat and over the course of the season, no team has registered more clean sheets than their total of 16. Ten of those have come on home soil, too, which makes me think that they should be able to record a routine victory on Friday.
The hosts have won two of their last five and they will know just how important three points will be here as they seek to catch up with Lille in fourth, because a spot in the Champions League qualifiers offers the chance of a more financially lucrative incentive than the Europa League.
Le Havre's winless run of seven games also comes into it, and they will be low on confidence heading to the south coast.
Terem Moffi anytime goalscorer @ 7/5
One of Nice's key players this season has been centre-forward Moffi, who as mentioned above has scored 11 goals in Ligue 1. He failed to find the back of the net in the victory over Strasbourg last time out, but he did score at Marseille in the fixture before that.
I believe he will get himself back on the scoresheet this weekend because Nice are entering their most important run of fixtures and they need to take advantage of the position they are currently in with a game in hand on teams above them.
Moffi has been a threat for the hosts throughout the season and having missed the reverse meeting with Le Havre, he will want to show the visitors that they were fortunate he was absent that day by turning in a strong performance on Friday night.
He will benefit from their lack of confidence due to their winless streak, so I'm confident that he can grab a goal in this fixture.
