Granada vs Valencia Prediction: Visitors can grind out victory

Valencia have endured a tricky few weeks in La Liga but have a good opportunity to return to winning ways when they visit lowly Granada at Los Carmenes on Thursday (19:00). The visitors have won just one of their last six games but their opponents Granada have won only twice all season in the league and are in the relegation zone, 14 points from safety.

In their first match under new head coach Jose Ramon Sandoval, Granada were beaten 1-0 by Cadiz on Friday, while Valencia were held to a 0-0 draw the following day by Mallorca. Here are our Granada vs Valencia predictions, including team news and match odds.

Granada vs Valencia Betting Tips

  • Valencia to win @ 13/10
  • #PickYourPunt - Under 2.5 goals and Hugo Duro to score anytime @ 5/1

Team News

Jesus Vallejo, Myrto Uzuni and Lucas Boye are all likely to miss out for hosts Granada and Matis Arezo could lead the line.

Visitors Valencia will be without Roman Yaremchuk, who is out with a hamstring injury, while defensive pair Jose Gaya and Mouctar Diakhaby are also out.

Match Odds

Valencia are favourites to win the match at 13/10, while hosts Granada are priced at 12/5 and the draw is 21/10.

But a low-scoring match is expected with under 2.5 goals available at 4/7, whereas over 2.5 goals is 5/4.

Both teams to score, meanwhile, is priced at 10/11.

Valencia to win @ 13/10

Wins have been in short supply for Valencia recently but they have at least shown steely determination at the back and their superior defence should see them over the line against Granada.

Friday's defeat to Cadiz was Granada's fourth loss on the spin and they have gone ten matches without a win in La Liga.

They have collected a paltry 14 points from 29 games in the top flight this season, with only basement boys Almeria behind them, and a change in manager is unlikely to have a major impact.

Sandoval was drafted in after Alexander Medina was dismissed following nine games without a win, but the group have looked out of their depth in the top flight.

Granada have not won any of their last four meetings with Valencia, who can get back to winning ways against the strugglers.

Valencia to win at 13/10 looks a worthwhile pick, while a 2-0 win for the visitors is appealing in the correct score market at 10/1.

Valencia to win at 13/10

#PickYourPunt - Under 2.5 goals and Hugo Duro to score anytime @ 5/1

Although Valencia are the best bet to win this match, it is not likely to be a high-scoring affair.

One or both teams have failed to score in 17 of Valencia's 29 league games this season and their top-flight fixtures are averaging only 2.21 goals per game.

Indeed, their last three fixtures against Getafe, Villarreal and Mallorca have produced a total of only two goals and under 2.5 goals is a good way to start a #PickYourPunt selection for this game.

Combine it with a bet on Hugo Duro to score for Valencia, taking the odds to an appealing 5/1.

The goals have certainly not been flowing for Valencia recently but Duro has struck 12 times in La Liga, including two of his team's last four goals.

The absence of Yaremchuk up top means extra responsibility will fall to Duro, who can net in a low-scoring contest.

#pickyourpunt at 5/1
