The Betfred World Matchplay is in full swing and on Wednesday night we have four more second round matches. We’ve looked at the match ups and picked out our best bets for the evening, with an acca boosted from 15/1 to 18/1!

Our Tipster hit gold last night when his boosted 16/1 accumulator landed. Can he do the same again on Wednesday??

Betfred World Matchplay day 5 Tips

  • Damon Heta -2.5 Hcp – 8/11
  • Dimitri van den Bergh +1.5 Hcp – 20/21
  • Ryan Searle to win – EVS
  • Luke Humphries -2.5 Hcp – 11/8

Boosted Acca – 15/1 18/1

Damon Heta -2.5 Hcp – 8/11

Brendan Dolan pulled off the shock of the first round in dethroning the reigning champion, Michael van Gerwyn.

Now ‘The History Maker’ faces another tough task, as he takes on Australia’s Damon Heta.

‘The Heat’ whipped the Blackpool crowd into a frenzy during his walk on, coming on in an Australian cricket cap, with cricket bat to boot.

Jeers from the crowd were no deterrent for the world number 13, as he demolished the dangerous Josh Rock 10-5.

Dolan was at his very best against MVG but I think Heta will have too much for the Irishman.

Dimitri van den Bergh +1.5 Hcp – 20/21

‘The Dreammaker’ loves this format and competition, winning in 2020, runner up a year later and a semi finalist last year.

The 29-year-old looked in superb form in the first round, beating Ross Smith 10-8, with a 100+ average.

Next up is ‘The Ferret’ Jonny Clayton, who wasn’t at his fluent best in his first round win over German Gabriel Clemens.

Odds of almost even money on a dimi win with a couple of legs start, looks like a value bet to me.

Ryan Searle to win – EVS

‘Heavy Metal’ was the player of the first round, as he smashed in a 105+ average in his 10-4 beating of Raymond van Barneveld.

Now, Searle takes on Peter Wright, who is the number two seed despite a really poor run of form recently.

‘Snakebite’ finished bottom of the Premier League table after a dismal tournament and whilst he looked better in the first round, he was still changing between darts, showing he’s not entirely happy.

With Searle scoring and finishing so well, this one looks very good value at evens.

Luke Humphries -2.5 Hcp – 11/8

Another man bang in form is ‘Cool Hand’ Luke Humphries, who has won twice on tour in the last three weeks and was one of my pre tournament picks.

He lived up to that billing, when destroying Jose De Sousa 10-2 in the first round, with a average just under 102.

A much tougher challenge awaits in the form of Dirk van Duijvenbode, who beat Kym Huybrechts in a first round tiebreaker.

One gets the feeling though, that it’s only a matter of time before the 28-year-old Englishman wins his first televised ranking title and explodes onto the world stage.

The four selections pay around 15/1 but we have managed to get it boosted out to 18/1 which you can load straight to betslip by clicking below.
