A holiday at his favourite sunny destination Zante is planned for big Betfred winner David Booth.

The 58-year-old railway maintenance worker is also planning to re-plaster and decorate two bedrooms at his Cheshire home after winning £35,000 on the New York lottery from just a two-pound stake.

David (pictured below), who will be joined by bookkeeper wife Suzanne on their summer holiday to the Greek Island, is a regular at the Betfred shop at Weaver Square shopping centre in Northwich near the couple's home in Leftwich.

The jubilant winner revealed just what goes into picking his lucky numbers, which were 7, 11, 28 and 46.

For 10 years he's been dropping a number drawn from his selections until eventually he ended up in the money.

David said: "I'd like to apologise to the staff at the Betfred shop for my language, but I was just so emotional after finding out I’d won so much from such a small stake."

"I'm gobsmacked, but the celebrations are on hold because of the rota at work.

"We have always loved Zante, which is now on the cards, because everyone is just so friendly over there."

Betfred boss Fred Done said:

"Congratulations to David, a loyal and hard-working customer who within a few days has worked out with his wife exactly how he's going to splash the cash.

"Enjoy Zante and some much-needed sunshine."
