Group C at Euro 2024 is taking shape and the second round of games swings into action on Thursday, starting in Munich at the Allianz Arena. Slovenia take on Serbia (14:00, ITV1) with both teams hoping for a result to boost their chances of qualification. Slovenia earned an impressive point against Denmark in a 1-1 draw, while Serbia lost 1-0 to England in a hard-fought encounter.

It means the pressure is on for both Matjaz Kek and Dragan Stojkovic, as they try to guide their teams into the last 16. Below you can find my Slovenia vs Serbia Bet Builder Tips.

Slovenia vs Serbia Bet Builder Tips

  • Serbia to win
  • Aleksandar Mitrovic and Benjamin Sesko to score

Euro 2024 odds

Serbia to win

Despite Slovenia’s positive result in their first match, I think Serbia are the stronger outfit heading into this clash. We saw against England how difficult they are to play against, with their team of giants a massive threat from set pieces and crosses from open play.

Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic are likely to play up front together again, but expect captain Dusan Tadic to start as Stojkovic is likely to field a more attacking outfit against weaker opposition. I think Tadic will bring the spark Serbia need, and the strikers will be able to hurt Slovenia.

Aleksandar Mitrovic and Benjamin Sesko to score

I actually think, contrary to popular belief, this game will feature a decent amount of goals. Both defences are well-organised, but the star players for these two are in attack. Mitrovic didn’t get too many chances against England, but that was to be expected, however he has scored 58 goals for his country and is likely to cause issues for Slovenia.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Sesko was exceptional against Denmark and came so close with two long-range efforts. He won’t be afraid of getting shots away, and I think Slovenia’s star man will be able to find the net in matchday two. Including Vlahovic, there are three exceptional strikers on show here, and I’m backing two of them to score in Munich.

Slovenia vs Serbia odds

Over 7.5 corners

We saw how keen Serbia were to get crosses into the box against England, and I think they will have far more joy against Slovenia. The formation match-ups suggest that wing-play will be key to success here, so expect a decent amount of corners, as Serbia try to assert their aerial superiority at the Allianz Arena. Slovenia also like to go direct and Sesko will shoot from anywhere, so I'm backing at least eight corners in this one.

Aleksandar Mitrovic to get booked

Now I’m keen to pick a player to get booked here in what is likely to be a physical and highly-strung encounter. I’m also keen to stay away from any players who were booked in the first game, given they will be walking a tightrope to avoid a suspension. Now, Mitrovic didn’t get booked in the first match, and he will be well up for the fight against the Slovenian back line.

I believe he will be involved in everything going forward for Serbia, and so backing him to pick up a booking seems like a sensible plan. The referee may deem him to just be too aggressive in aerial duels, while I’ve got a sneaking suspicion he may just whip his shirt off if he scores an important goal. Come on Magic Mitro, give the people what they want.
