The action is starting to die down a little in Europe as many leagues come to a close, but there are still plenty of games to look forward to this weekend that could produce plenty of goals.

In my over 2.5 goals tips for Saturday, May 25, I have selected two cup finals from the UK, one from Germany, and a final-round game in Italy, alongside the Women's Champions League final, to produce an 8.25/1 fivefold.

Over 2.5 Goals Tips - Saturday, May 25

  • Manchester City vs Manchester United @ 2/5
  • Celtic vs Rangers @ 4/5
  • FC Barcelona Women vs Olympique Lyonnais Women @ 4/6
  • 1. FC Kaiserslautern vs Bayer Leverkusen @ 4/11
  • Juventus vs Monza @ 8/13

Over 2.5 goals acca pays at 8.25/1

Manchester City vs Manchester United @ 2/5

Saturday's FA Cup final is a re-run of last year's when Manchester City ran out 2-1 winners against the Red Devils at Wembley. Back at the same venue this Saturday, Manchester United will be hoping for a different result, but that looks highly improbable given their respective seasons up to this point.

Premier League champions Man City ended the campaign in scintillating form, winning their last seven games, and four of them ended in over 2.5 goals. Across 38 Premier League matches, there were at least three goals scored in 24 of them, the same number recorded by Man United.

It was certainly an eventful end to the season for Erik ten Hag's side, who saw seven of their last 10 games end in over 2.5 goals.

The last six Manchester derbies, meanwhile, have all seen at least three goals scored, including last year's FA Cup final, when Ilkay Gundogan netted the opener inside the first minute.

The Citizens are expected to take the game to their rivals again this weekend, and United goalkeeper Andre Onana could be a busy man between the sticks.

Celtic vs Rangers @ 4/5

Like Man City, Celtic picked up yet another league title last week as they lifted the Scottish Premiership ahead of Rangers. The damage was done at Celtic Park on May 11, as the Bhoys beat their bitter rivals 2-1 with just two games remaining thereafter.

There is a chance for Rangers to redeem themselves somewhat this weekend, as they meet in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park. Whether the Gers can stop the Hoops train, which has won five games in a row on its journey to Edinburgh this weekend, remains to be seen, but goals should certainly be a feature of this contest.

Celtic's last 11 matches have seen at least three goals scored, while eight of Rangers' last 10 have ended in over 2.5 goals.

The sides have met four times already this season, and after just a single strike in the first contest in September, when Celtic won 1-0 at Ibrox, the three following matches have all produced a minimum of three goals.

This fixture has rarely disappointed over the years, and I expect more entertainment on Saturday.

FC Barcelona Women vs Olympique Lyonnais Women @ 4/6

Another huge final takes place on Saturday, this time in Bilbao as FC Barcelona Women meet Olympique Lyonnais Women in the Champions League. Both clubs have been dominant in their respective divisions this season, with Lyon finishing 11 points clear of their nearest challengers in France, and Barcelona 18 points ahead of Real Madrid with just a few games remaining.

Barcelona have scored 129 goals in 28 league games, an average of 4.6 goals per game, while Lyon bagged 82 in 22 (3.7 p/g).

Excitement is building that these two can produce a Champions League final classic at the San Mames on Saturday, and meetings in years gone by have certainly produced.

The last head-to-head between the pair, a Champions League final in May 2022, saw four goals scored as Lyon won 3-1 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, and the French giants also won the competition with a 4-1 victory over their Spanish counterparts in May 2019.

1. FC Kaiserslautern vs Bayer Leverkusen @ 4/11

On to Germany, where the DFB Pokal final pits second-tier Kaiserslautern against invincible Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen, who are looking to do the double after their treble hopes were ended by Atalanta in Wednesday's Europa League final.

They could hardly have imagined a better opponent to face at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, given Kaiserslautern finished 13th in the 2. Bundesliga. Xabi Alonso's side met a second-tier outfit in the semi-finals of this competition, thrashing Dusseldorf 4-0 at the BayArena.

This time around, there is no home advantage for Leverkusen, but that shouldn't matter much as they face a side who finished 24 points behind Dusseldorf.

I expect a high-scoring win for Leverkusen here as they look to round off a sensational season in style.

Juventus vs Monza @ 8/13

Goals have been less common in league games involving Juventus and Monza this season - just 15 of their 37 Serie A games each so far have seen over 2.5 goals.

However, their game at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday marks their final one of the season, and with both sides having little to play for - Juventus have already qualified for the Champions League while Monza can only finish 11th or 12th - we should see two teams playing without fear.

The managerless hosts should be buoyant after a pulsating 3-3 draw at Bologna on Monday, a game where they were poor for the most part and were 3-0 down heading into the final 15 minutes. Their comeback should offer some hope that not all is doom and gloom with the Old Lady, and they will want to end the season on a positive note in front of their own fans.

Monza's campaign has fizzled out with very little to play for, and they are winless in their last eight, though four of their last seven have seen at least three goals scored.
