Lazio vs Juventus

Lazio welcome Juventus to the Stadio Olimpico for the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final on Tuesday, with the hosts looking to overturn a 2-0 deficit.

The Old Lady were impressive when winning that first leg, with Lazio failing to even manage a shot on target in Turin, but they have failed to win since that result and things may not be as comfortable in the capital. Below you can find my Lazio vs Juventus prediction, as well as team news and the latest match odds.

Lazio vs Juventus Prediction

  • Lazio draw no bet @ 1/1
  • Felipe Anderson to score first @ 11/1

Team News

Lazio’s first-choice goalkeeper Ivan Provedel remains injured alongside key outfielders Matteo Guendouzi and Mattia Zaccagni.

Record goalscorer Ciro Immobile is a doubt, as is Manuel Lazzari, meaning the hosts could come into this clash with a plethora of injury issues.

Juventus, by contrast, are in much better health, with Fabio Miretti and Moise Kean their only injured absentees.

Match Odds

Lazio are 13/8 - or a 38.1% chance - to win this clash, with the draw 9/4 and Juventus slight favourites at 11/8.

Over 2.5 goals seems an unlikely outcome but can be backed at 6/5, with both teams to score available at 10/11.

Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is the 7/4 favourite to open the scoring, with Immobile Lazio’s shortest selection in that market at 13/2.

Lazio draw no bet @ 1/1

Lazio were disappointing in the first leg, but home advantage could give them an added boost in this reverse fixture. Igor Tudor’s side have won their two games since the first-leg defeat as well as each of their last two home matches, with a victory over the Old Lady starting that run.

That 1-0 victory over Juve was not surprising either, as Lazio had lost only one of their last four home clashes with the Bianconeri prior to that match, meaning their record in the last five home meetings against Massimiliano Allegri’s men now reads three wins, one draw and one loss.

Juve have been inconsistent all term and showed that to full effect when following up their first-leg success with a 0-0 draw at rivals Torino before only managing a 2-2 tie with bottom-half Cagliari on Friday night.

Lazio’s injuries are a cause for concern, but they should still have enough talent available to make amends for their poor first-leg showing by landing a win, even if eventually failing to qualify. Although Juve have drawn three of their last four away games, so getting your stake back via the draw no bet market could prove a smart play.

A narrow 1-0 home victory, which was the scoreline in the league meeting at Stadio Olimpico last month, appeals in the correct score market at 13/2.

Felipe Anderson to score first @ 11/1

Felipe Anderson enjoyed an excellent day in his last home match for Lazio, grabbing half of his side’s four goals in a 4-1 drubbing of Salernitana, and he could be in for a big Stadio Olimpico impact once more.

He has taken two shots in each of his last six appearances, highlighting his growing influence on the attack, and with Immobile a doubt, it could be down to the Brazilian to take the impetus on Tuesday.

As hinted to previously, one strike could be all Lazio can muster up as Juve are likely to sit deep and protect their two-goal advantage, so backing Anderson to open the scoring at 11/1 could be a profitable play.
