Slovenia are appearing in just their second-ever European Championship this summer, and their first since making their tournament debut in 2000, when they exited at the group stage after failing to win a game.

Matjaž Kek's side have been drawn in Group C alongside England, Denmark and Serbia, and are considered underdogs to advance to the last 16. Ahead of their first game against the Danes on Sunday, you can find my Euro 2024 Slovenia predictions and all their latest betting odds down below.

Euro 2024 Predictions - Slovenia

  • Outright Winner @ 200/1
  • To Qualify From Group C @ 6/4
  • To Win Group C @ 14/1
  • Top Team Goalscorer - Benjamin Sesko @ 2/1

Slovenia finished ahead of Finland, Kazakhstan, Northern Ireland and San Marino to secure second spot in their Euro 2024 qualifying group, and can consider themselves unfortunate not to have topped the group after finishing level on 22 points with Denmark.

They face a reunion with the Danes in Group C this summer, with further high-level opposition in the form of England and Serbia.

They're up against it in Germany, but Slovenia have lost just twice in their last 21 internationals - against Denmark and Finland - and are unbeaten in five friendlies this calendar year.

In goal, Slovenia have one of the best goalkeepers in the last decade - Jan Oblak - who will be instrumental to their chances of success this summer. At the other end is Benjamin Sesko, who has enjoyed a stunning end to the Bundesliga season, scoring in his last seven games.

Squad

Goalkeepers: Vid Belec (APOEL), Jan Oblak (Atlético de Madrid), Igor Vekić (Vejle)

Defenders: Jure Balkovec (Alanyaspor), Jaka Bijol (Udinese), Miha Blažič (Lech Poznań), David Brekalo (Orlando City), Vanja Drkušić (Sochi), Erik Janža (Górnik Zabrze), Žan Karničnik (Celje), Jon Gorenc Stanković (Sturm Graz), Petar Stojanović (Sampdoria)

Midfielders: Timi Elšnik (Olimpija Ljubljana), Adam Gnezda Čerin (Panathinaikos), Tomi Horvat (Sturm Graz), Josip Iličić (Maribor), Jasmin Kurtić (Südtirol), Sandi Lovrić (Udinese), Benjamin Verbič (Panathinaikos), Adrian Zeljković (Spartak Trnava), Nino Žugelj (Bodø/Glimt)

Forwards: Žan Celar (Lugano), Jan Mlakar (Pisa), Benjamin Šeško (Leipzig), Andraž Šporar (Panathinaikos), Žan Vipotnik (Bordeaux)

Euro 2024 Odds

Outright Winner @ 200/1

Only Albania (350/1), Slovakia (400/1) and Georgia (500/1) are rated longer shots than Slovenia to win the tournament, and it would be some achievement if they were to do so. It's one we can probably file under the 'not happening' category.

To Qualify From Group C @ 6/4

Slovenia face Denmark and Serbia in their first two group games, and they will be targeting three or four points from those two sides to stand a chance of qualifying for the knockouts.

They failed to beat Denmark in qualification but did hold them to a 1-1 draw in Ljubljana last June, narrowly losing (1-2) in Copenhagen five months later, so should have a degree of confidence that they can avoid defeat to them on Sunday.

Serbia aren't to be feared either, while England lost 1-0 to Iceland last week, so I wouldn't completely dismiss Slovenia's chances of reaching the last 16, even as one of the four best third-place sides.

To Win Group C @ 14/1

England are firm favourites to win Group C, and I would be surprised if it wasn't the Three Lions or Denmark who topped the standings.

Top Team Goalscorer - Benjamin Sesko @ 2/1

The 21-year-old striker has been a hot topic of conversation in recent weeks with Arsenal heavily linked before Leipzig announced he had signed a new contract on Wednesday.

Joining from sister club Red Bull Salzburg last summer, Sesko made a relatively slow start to life in Germany before exploding into action in the last couple of months of the campaign.

Sesko also netted five goals in Euro 2024 qualifying, two more than Slovenia's next-highest scorer Andraz Sporar, who is 5/1 to top score for his country this summer.

It's difficult to look past Sesko, however, even at 2/1, and he will need to be at the top of his game if Slovenia have any hope of progressing into the knockouts.
