Tuesday will see four Euro 2024 matches being played on the same day for the first time, and there are some intriguing match-ups.

Read on for my Football Bet of the Day for Tuesday, June 25.

Football Bet of the Day - Tuesday, June 25

  • England to win and over 2.5 goals @ 23/20

Football Odds

Group D’s climax will kick-off at 5pm as France aim to secure top spot when they take on already-eliminated Poland, while the Netherlands and Austria battle it out for guaranteed qualification for the last 16.

Our focus, however, is on Group C. Serbia and Denmark clash in Munich, with the former needing a win to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages, but our Bet of the Day comes from the section’s other game, England versus Slovenia.

The Three Lions have yet to get going in Germany, but they will be confident of securing a win and top spot in the section against Slovenia in Cologne.

It is fair to see that England have flattered to deceive at Euro 2024 thus far, and the ante-post favourites have lost their spot at the head of that market following a poor start to the tournament.

The Three Lions have gone out in the outright market after stumbling to a 1-0 victory over Serbia and then performing dreadfully in a 1-1 draw with Denmark in their opening two matches.

England vs Slovenia Odds

However, despite their struggles, they will still be confident of beating Slovenia, who have failed to beat England in six meetings, losing five times in that run.

Matjaz Kek’s side have held their own in Group C, holding both Denmark and Serbia to a 1-1 draw, but the quality the Three Lions possess could bring an end to their eight-match unbeaten run and, subsequently, their time in Germany.

They may, however, have enough to score against England and bring up a high goals total in Cologne. Slovenia have notched over 1.1 expected goals in each of their two matches at this tournament, managed four shots on target against Serbia - one more than England - and beat Portugal 2-0 in March.

A win would secure them a place in the last 16, while a draw could put them into the best-third-placed-team lottery, so Kek could employ an attacking approach against the Three Lions, who allowed seven shots on target against Denmark.

That gung-ho style could grant them a goal or leave them exposed at the back and allow Gareth Southgate’s men to put a fair few past Jan Oblak, making England to win and over 2.5 goals at 23/20 a better play than taking the bigger-priced 5/2 about the Three Lions to win and both teams to score.

England have failed to impress so far, sure, but Southgate is unlikely to ring the changes for this clash after naming the same XI for the opening two games, although Ollie Watkins, Anthony Gordon and Cole Palmer will be out to impress if given the chance.

The motivation to improve should help massively as England look to find their feet in Germany ahead of the knockouts and it should see the Three Lions land a much-needed win against Slovenia in an exciting clash in Cologne.
