Read my Austria vs Turkey bet builder tips below as I predict an action-packed affair with plenty of goals, shots and tackles, with my five-leg suggestion priced up at a tasty 7/1.

Both teams to score - Yes

I'm expecting an entertaining contest on Tuesday night between two sides that each showed their eye for goal in the group stage.

Austria blanked in a 1-0 defeat to 2022 World Cup finalists France in their Group D opener but upped the ante in victories over Poland (3-1) and the Netherlands (3-2) to clinch top spot in the group and set up a last 16 tie with Group F runners-up Turkey, who were only denied a goal in a 3-0 loss to Euro 2016 champions Portugal.

The Crescent-Stars opened up their tournament campaign with a 3-1 win against Georgia and beat the Czech Republic 2-1 last time out to beat both to second place, but like their opponents on Tuesday, they are yet to keep a clean sheet in the competition.

With both teams scoring in two of their three group games, and only highly-ranked nations - Portugal and France - keeping them out, BTTS - Yes looks like an obvious shout here.

Austria and Turkey both play on the front foot, and I can't see either holding back when their strengths are further forward.

Marcel Sabitzer 2+ shots

Marcel Sabitzer was kept pretty quiet in Austria's opener against France, shooting just once from a free-kick.

However, the Borussia Dortmund midfielder burst into life in their next game against Poland, recording five shots before scoring one of his three against the Netherlands.

Sabitzer averaged three shots per game in the group stage and 2.3 per game in Austria's qualifying campaign, while in the 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign, he averaged 1.9 per game.

The 30-year-old can be lethal from open play or set-piece situations, and in a game likely to be full of shots, I would expect him to rank highly.

He's also yet to be substituted at the tournament, highlighting his endurance and position as a key player under head coach Ralf Rangnick.

Kenan Yildiz 2+ shots

Turkey suffered a hammer blow to their chances of reaching the quarter-finals when captain and talisman Hakan Calhanoglu received his second yellow card of the competition against the Czech Republic, incurring a one-match suspension alongside defender Samet Akaydin.

Calhanoglu averaged 2.7 shots per game in the group stage, and would have been a viable candidate for this bet builder. However, in the Inter Milan midfielder's absence, I am opting for a fellow Serie A player, Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz, who is actually posting a higher shots per game average (three) than Calhanoglu, despite only starting two matches.

The 19-year-old started Turkey's victory over Georgia, registering a shot in each half before being substituted in the 85th minute. He was then dropped to the bench for his country's defeat to Portugal, emerging in the 58th minute and firing wide of Diogo Costa's goal five minutes later.

That was the teenager's only shot of the game against Portugal, but he was reinstated to the starting XI against the Czechs and was in the thick of the action, firing off six shots in his 76 minutes of play.

All eyes will be on another 19-year-old, Real Madrid's Arda Guler, to step up in the absence of Calhanoglu, but I prefer the higher odds of Yildiz, who should also start on Tuesday.

Yildiz is likely to be deployed on the left-hand side of Turkey's attack and could come up against Serie A rival Stefan Posch, who was on the field when the teenager came off the bench and scored against his Bologna side in a 3-3 draw in May.

Nicolas Seiwald 3+ tackles

Nicolas Seiwald has been a tackling machine for Austria at Euro 2024, averaging 4.3 tackles per game in the group stage. The RB Leipzig midfielder made a whopping eight against France, two against Poland, and three against the Netherlands and is, unsurprisingly, their top tackler at the tournament.

Even more impressive is the fact he is yet to commit a foul, indicative of his defensive nous.

Playing at the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig on Tuesday, Seiwald should feel right at home, and he will need to be at his combative best to stop a Turkey attack containing the mercurial talents of Guler and Yildiz.

Georgia made 23 tackles against the Turks in their opening match, with their three central midfielders all registering at least two each - Giorgi Chakvetadze the highest on three - and Portugal made 15 against them in their second game, Bruno Fernandes being responsible for three of them.

Ferdi Kadioglu 2+ tackles

Like Seiwald, Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu is his country's top tackler at the tournament, making 2.7 tackles per game in the group stage. He made two against Georgia, four against Portugal, and two against the Czech Republic.

Turkey will need to be at their best to stop what looks like a rampant Austria attack, and Kadioglu will be key to stopping their output from the right-hand side.
