Atalanta vs Fiorentina Coppa Italia

The second leg of this Coppa Italia semi-final sees hosts Atalanta take on Fiorentina at the Gewiss Stadium, with La Dea looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Florence.

Atalanta have lost just two of their last 14 home matches in all competitions - one of which came against Liverpool when they advanced to the semi-finals of the Europa League on aggregate - so Gian Piero Gasperini’s men should feel confident that they can reach their third final in six years.

Although edged out in the first leg thanks to Rolando Madragora’s first-half strike, goals have been hard to come by on the road for Fiorentina, who have failed to score in three of their last five games.

That wastefulness in front of goal could cost the visitors a place in the Coppa Italia final for the second successive year.

Atalanta vs Fiorentina betting tips

  • Atalanta to win @ 4/5
  • Both Teams to Score - No @ 11/10

Team news

Gasperini was handed two further injury headaches in Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Monza, with Rafael Toloi (muscle) and Emil Holm (calf) both being replaced during the 90 minutes.

They have joined defender Giorgio Scalvini on the sidelines but, after resting a few key players in preparation for this tie, the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Teun Koopmeiners will both be expected to return to the starting line-up.

Fiorentina head coach Vincenzo Italiano heavily rotated his squad at the weekend in preparation for this all-important semi-final clash, with his side running out comfortable 2-0 winners over Serie A’s bottom side Salernitana.

The likes of Andrea Belotti, Luca Beltran, Giacomo Bonaventura and Nico Gonzalez were all left out of the team on Sunday and should all return to the fray on Wednesday.

 Match odds

Atalanta are the favourites to claim victory at 4/5 whereas Fiorentina are 13/5 to claim the victory that would secure their spot in the competition’s final.

The draw can be backed at 11/4 while Atalanta striker Gianluca Scamacca is the favourite to break the deadlock in this encounter at 9/2.

Atalanta to win @ 4/5

With just two defeats at the Gewiss Stadium since late November, Atalanta should be expected to make home advantage count in this tie.

Fiorentina have faced their fair share of troubles away from their beloved Stadio Artemio Franchi home in 2024. They have won just two of their 10 competitive fixtures on the road in all competitions this calendar year, so a home victory looks the most tempting investment in this captivating encounter.

Both Teams to Score - No @ 11/10

The hosts possess the sixth best home defensive record in Serie A and they could combine a victory in front of their own fans with a shutout, which will undoubtedly please head coach Gasperini.

Four of Fiorentina’s last five outings on the road have seen one or both teams fail to find the net and, with this being true for the first leg in Florence, backing at least one team to keep a clean sheet must appeal.
