South Africa will look to maintain their 100 per cent record when they face winless Nepal in their final Group C game of the T20 World Cup.

The Proteas are already through to the Super 8s, but the Rhinos are not mathematically out of the running to grab the second qualification spot. Read on for my South Africa vs Nepal prediction.

South Africa vs Nepal Odds

South Africa are as short as 1/20 to win this match, with Nepal available at 11/1 to pull off a huge upset. In what is expected to be a one-sided contest the Proteas are 1/28 to hit the most sixes and 1/10 to hit the most fours.

Gerald Coetzee - South Africa Top Wicket Taker @ 16/5

Changes to the South Africa side are anticipated now they are through to the next stage, although coach Rob Walter said on Wednesday that they would be kept to a minimum.

Ordinarily, a game such as this would be an ideal opportunity to give the reserves a go and keep the main men fresh for bigger battles to come, but none of South Africa’s three Group C wins have been emphatic enough to suggest another one is a given.

In fact, the form of their top order has been little short of disastrous, with Quinton de Kock, who came into the tournament in poor form, producing scores of 20, 0 and 18 and his opening partner Reeza Hendricks yet to score more than four in any of his three knocks.

Captain Aiden Markram has managed to eke out just 16 runs in total, while Tristan Stubbs has failed to live up to his big reputation in the middle-order.

The Proteas brains trust could give Ryan Rickelton, one of the stars of this year’s SA20 competition, a go on Saturday but it’s more likely that they will keep faith with the batters and rest key bowlers instead.

There could be opportunities for Gerald Coetzee, Tabraiz Shamsi and Bjorn Fortuin to enter the fray, with tall fast-bowler Coetzee probably the type of bowler who might unsettle the Nepal batters.

He took 13 wickets in 33.3 overs with a strike-rate of 15.46 in this spring’s Indian Premier League and looks good value to emerge as South Africa’s top wicket-taker - particularly if the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje are rested.

Rohit Paudel - Nepal Top Run Scorer @ 18/5

Without wanting to sound like a stuck record, captain Rohit Paudel is the classiest batter in Nepal’s line-up and is worthy of support in the top run score betting almost every time the Rhinos play.

He came into the tournament in good form after posting scores of 112, 81*, 72 and 0* in matches against West Indies A just over a month ago.

Paudel is a quick scorer with all the shots in the book but showed some restraint in his last innings when he top-scored for Nepal with 35 off 37 balls against the Netherlands.
