Super Bowl 2024 Betting Tips:

  • Back Kansas City Chiefs to win @ 11/10
  • Back Brock Purdy & Patrick Mahomes to combine for 4+ Touchdown Passes @ 11/10

The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs have arrived in Las Vegas, and they’re ready to try and etch their names in the history books with a Super Bowl victory. Many might not be happy that these are the two teams who’ve made it, but the talent is unbelievable.

Let’s start out in San Francisco. The biggest question for them the past few years has been quarterback. Could they be able to find a signal caller that didn't shy away in big moments. That didn’t lose football games.

Well, it appears they’ve found that in Brock Purdy, as he’s led back-to-back comebacks in the playoffs this year. If this team can just get off to a better start early on, they’d look so much better.

Regardless, the talent surrounding Purdy has always been good. You have players like Christian McCaffrey in the backfield, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk out wide, Trent Williams protecting his blindside, and George Kittle doing everything he’s asked to do at tight end.

With this offensive firepower, the 49ers can always compete for a Super Bowl. When it comes to their defense, the same thing can be said. I’d certainly trust Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw to get a few stops throughout the game, especially with a defensive line that features Arik Armstead, Nick Bosa, and Chase Young. San Francisco really just needs to start out better, and they could be a real problem here.

As for the Chiefs, they’re led by their big three. That is Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Andy Reid. Without one of those guys, this team isn’t where they are right now, and that's just the truth of the matter.

Kansas City has been working with a very underwhelming offensive lineup all season, but these three guys are so good at what they do, that it hasn’t mattered in the postseason.

Yes, it absolutely helps that their defense has been playing phenomenally the last couple of weeks, but the offense still has to put up points of their own against really good defenses. Mahomes and Kelce keep making things look easy out there in the passing game, and Isaiah Pacheco’s fierce running style has helped them get the ground game going much easier.

Kansas City is one of those teams that you look at on paper and wonder how they made the Super Bowl, yet they just don’t lose football games. It’s not in their DNA right now. It doesn’t matter how uncertain it may be, Mahomes and company just refuse to lose.

If you’re looking to bet on a potential winner for this game, I’d roll with the Chiefs. The 49ers are a juggernaut of talent, but they haven’t been to the Super Bowl since they lost a few years ago to the Chiefs. Kansas City won a year ago and beat the 49ers the last time. They have a lot more experience in the most important positions, which are head coach and quarterback, and should just find a way to get an advantage.

Super Bowl 2024 Odds:

The traders here at Betfred have made the San Francisco 49ers the betting favourites to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The market here has them at 10/13 as of Thursday morning with KC coming in at 11/10. The line has been set at San Fran giving away 2.5pts on the handicap.

It looks like potentially a high-scoring game with the Total Points number set at 47.5. For historical context, seven of the previous ten Super Bowls have seen this number passed, including last year when Kansas City downed the Eagles 38-35.

There is absolutely no surprise that superstar Running Back Christian McCaffrey is the short odds-on favourite in the anytime/first/last Touchdown scorer markets, coming in at just 4/9 to reach the End Zone at any point in the game. Isiah Pacheco at 4/5 feels maybe a touch short but Travis Kelce has been on fire throughout the playoffs and the 20/23 stands out.

Bet 1 - Kansas City Chiefs to win @ 11/10

Anytime you fancy an underdog straight up, then it goes without saying that you want to back them on the Money Line.

A couple of months back, Kansas City looked lifeless and people were openly questioning whether their run was over. As Lee Corso would say, 'not so fast my friend' as we've seen them beat two outstanding teams on the road in Buffalo and Baltimore.

With the offense finally clicking, Travis Kelce looking like his old self and with Andy Reid still calling the plays. That winning pedigree shines and glory can follow.

Bet 2 - Brock Purdy & Patrick Mahomes to combine for 4+ Touchdowns passes @ 11/10

This Super Bowl looks to be all about offense. On one side, we have a team with an immense amount of talent at the skills positions but still a small question mark about their QB. Brock Purdy just has to get the ball out to his star players and let them do their thing.

Over on the KC side, you have a guy who has an early-season career-arc like pretty much no-one else in the history of the game. Patrick Mahomes has just been that good. He'll throw people open and I like the look of getting odds-against that they combine for at least four TDs through the air.
