Packers vs Bears Betting Tips:

  • Back Chicago Bears to win on the Money Line @ 13/10
  • Back Justin Fields Over 74.5 Rushing Yards @ 9/4

The Chicago Bears will be taking on the Green Bay Packers in a game that could completely alter how these teams view the upcoming offseason. The Bears have an opportunity to end

the Packers season in its entirety with a win on the road, but Green Bay has manhandled these Bears in the past.

Looking at Chicago, this game means a whole lot more than just getting revenge on the Packers for the beatdowns they’ve received.

The Bears currently hold onto the number one overall pick in the upcoming draft thanks to the Carolina Panthers. Many believe they’d draft a quarterback, but others feel like they want Justin Fields for the future.

Fans were even chanting “We Want Fields” during their dominant win last week against the Atlanta Falcons. The franchise will be keeping a close eye on Fields here to see if he can be who they want him to become.

His defense will have to help him out there, as they were torched by Aaron Jones and Green Bay back in Week 1. They added Montez Sweat to their defensive line since that matchup, but it’s still going to be a very tough one for them.

As for the Packers, they have been playing significantly better in the second half of the season. They beat a couple of strong teams consecutively but then fell flat on their faces right afterwards. They squeaked out a win against the Carolina Panthers, then dominated the Minnesota Vikings afterwards.

The home side are just such a hard team to figure out, and that goes for their offense and defense. Jordan Love has had stretches where he feels like an All-Pro, then had others where you think they should move on from him as quickly as possible.

It’s just a confusing roster, and this is their first real “playoff” test for many of them. The problem that I see is their defensive line, specifically in their run defense. In their last six games, we’ve watched them get consistently gashed on the ground, giving up over 150 rushing yards in many of those matchups.

When you are weak against the run, you’re usually weak against the pass as well due to the passing lanes opening up.

Simply due to how often the Packers have dominated the Bears, it’s hard to feel like this one will end up any differently. However, I truly feel like Fields is the answer in Chicago, and the confidence he must have entered this week with should be off the charts. He’s coming off a dominant win, heard the fans chanting that they want to keep him long-term, and heard a number of his teammates speak out in support of him as well.

This is a prove-it game for Fields and Chicago, and I just have that gut feeling that they’re going to come out here ready to avenge their previous losses. Love is going to have to prove that he's a step above Fields and win this must-win game for his squad to keep the season alive.

Packers vs Bears Odds:

It says plenty about what the traders think about the Packers that despite the fact they need to win this game to make the playoffs, are playing in one of the better home field advantages in the league against a side who are only playing for pride and yet, despite all that, we only find them a 2.5 favourite on the spread.

Straight-up we find Green Bay available to back at 8/13 with Chicago 13/10 on the Money Line.

The money does seem to suggest that we'll see plenty of scoring as the line there is set at 45.5pts.

Bet 1 - Chicago to win on the Money Line @ 13/10

If I believe in Justin Fields, then backing him to lead his side to what would be a very sweet victory against their arch-rivals is the obvious move. The former Ohio State Buckeye has shown so many glimpses that he could really be the answer under Center for the franchise.

This will be his last opportunity in game-action ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft to show the powers that be that they don't need to use their #1 pick on Celeb Williams or Drake Maye. So give me the underdog to win the match straight-up.

Bet 2 - Justin Fields Over 74.5 Rushing Yards @ 9/4

I wrote plenty about the Chicago QB, so it stands to reason that I would find a prop bet for him. I looked at the 13/10 on offer for him to score a rushing touchdown and that looks a good price considering he's done so in three of his past five games.

However, I'm looking slightly bigger and taking the price on him to rush for over 74.5 yards. He's done that twice in his past six starts and considering he may well be playing for his future in the Windy City, you can bet that he's going to leave everything out there on the field. I like the 24-year-old for a big day and this prop bet feels like a good price.
