Picks ATS:
- Adam: Seahawks
- Alan: Seahawks
- Jonny: 49ers
- Neil: Seahawks
Moneyline: Seahawks 6/4, 49ers 8/15
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: 49ers
- Alan: Seahawks
- Jonny: 49ers
- Neil: Seahawks
Comments: I don't think anybody could have predicted the 49ers' rough start to the season, and it appears that their problems extend far beyond Christian McCaffrey's absence.
The Cardinals beat San Francisco 24-23 last week as 7.5-point underdogs, so Kyle Shanahan and co. are desperate to get back to winning ways here.
The Seahawks didn't fare much better, losing to the New York Giants, who were also huge underdogs on the spread (6.5).
Despite their problems, SF are still one of the top offensive sides in the NFL, ranking second in total offence (407.4) and fourth in passing offence (263.4). Both sides have struggled defensively of late, so I think the Niners will prevail in an offensive shootout. - Jonny
Sunday - 14:30
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Bears
- Alan: Jaguars
- Jonny: Bears
- Neil: Jaguars
Moneyline: Bears 8/11, Jaguars 23/20
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Bears
- Alan: Jaguars
- Jonny: Bears
- Neil:Jaguars
Comments: Tottenham Hotspur again stages an NFL clash, with the Bears and the Jags journeying to the capital.
After a very good Week 4 I slipped a wee bit in Wk 5 and I'm not sure this hunch is going to get me rolling again, but I just can't resist. The 1-4 Jags have been bang there in some losing games, notably against the Texans, and is it fanciful to think that Trevor Lawrence can orchestrate a winning performance against Chicago?
I see a low-scoring affair, and I'm taking a chance for a bit of value that the Jags can nick it. The total's set at around 44.5 as I write, and I'm playing the under - Alan
Sunday - 18:00
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Commanders
- Alan: Commanders
- Jonny: Ravens
- Neil: Ravens
Moneyline: Ravens 1/3, Commanders, 23/10
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Ravens
- Alan: Commanders
- Jonny: Ravens
- Neil: Ravens
Comments: A contender for the game of the week right here, with the bang-in-form 4-1 Commanders travelling to a Ravens side that have won three straight to get their season back on track. It features two dual-threat Heisman Trophy winners, in potential rookie MVP Jayden Daniels and two-time MVP Lamar Jackson.
Baltimore just got over the line versus the Bengals on Sunday, in a hugely entertaining 41-38 shootout, whilst Washington picked up their second straight blowout win against the hapless Browns.
The 'Battle of the Beltway' looks likely to be high-scoring again, with both defenses showing huge cracks and whilst Daniels has been magnificent in his debut season, I'm backing the experienced pair of Jackson and star running back Derrick 'King' Henry to get the Ravens over the line. - Adam
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Cardinals
- Alan: Packers
- Jonny: Packers
- Neil: Packers
Moneyline: Packers 2/5, Cardinals 2/1
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Packers
- Alan: Packers
- Jonny: Packers
- Neil: Packers
Comments: Both teams come into this game off the back of big wins in California. The Cardinals stunned everybody last week, beating the San Francisco 49ers are 7.5-point underdogs. Can they pull off another upset, or was last week just a one-off?
The Packers, meanwhile, beat the LA Rams to move to 3-2 for the season.
Lots of points could be the play here as both sides have issues - Arizona’s defence ranks in the bottom six in the league in points allowed and yards per play allowed, while the Packers have had seven turnovers, the joint-highest in the league.
I think another road upset is a step too far for Arizona, so I'm taking Green Bay to cover and straight up. - Jonny
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Texans
- Alan: Patriots
- Jonny: Texans
- Neil: Patriots
Moneyline: Patriots 5/2, Texans 3/10
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Texans
- Alan: Texans
- Jonny: Texans
- Neil: Texans
Comments: The Patriots look to have finally given up on veteran QB Jacoby Brissett, after four straight losses, amid reports that #3 draft pick Drake Maye will be given the starting slot.
The 22-year-old former Tar Heel will bring a much-needed boost of exuberance and youth to a much-maligned franchise but he will of course take time to earn the trust of his offensive line-up and could take a few weeks to get up to speed.
As for the Texans, they have responded admirably to the blow out against the Vikings, with back-to-back victories over the Bills and Jags, yet are still not firing 100% on offense and have lost WW Nico Collins to a Hamstring injury. CJ Stroud & Co. should still have more than enough for New England though. - Adam
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Buccaneers
- Alan: Buccaneers
- Jonny: Saints
- Neil: Saints
Moneyline: Saints 6/4, Buccaneers 8/15
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Buccaneers
- Alan: Buccaneers
- Jonny: Buccaneers
- Neil: Saints
Comments: Huge NFC South clash in a division that's hard to call at this point.
I understand New Orleans QB Derek Carr is likely to be sidelined for a few weeks and if that's the case the scales for me at least are firmly tipped in favour of the Bucs.
They ran the Falcons close last time out and Kirk Cousins was in electric form, throwing for 509 yards and 4TDs. Bucs to go 4-2 - Alan
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Eagles
- Alan: Eagles
- Jonny: Eagles
- Neil: Eagles
Moneyline: Eagles 2/9, Browns 17/5
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Eagles
- Alan: Eagles
- Jonny: Eagles
- Neil: Eagles
Comments: Oh boy. We all have Philly winning SU & ATS, always a dangerous sign that. The home side are coming off a bye week, which followed a bit of a hammering down in Tampa Bay.
All signs though point towards having three big players back in their starting line-up as AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Lane Johnson are all tracking to be available as of the time of writing. That is big news.
Cleveland have a top-notch defense but their offensive output is just not good enough to keep up with the likes of Philly, should the home side click. Jalen Hurts needs to step it up but history tells us that he will. Let's roll with the Eagles finally showing us exactly who they are - Neil
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Colts
- Alan: Colts
- Jonny: Colts
- Neil: Titans
Moneyline: Titans 20/21, Colts 20/23
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Colts
- Alan: Colts
- Jonny: Colts
- Neil: Titans
Comments: The Colts hit the road with for me a great chance of burying the memory of last week's narrow reverse to the Jags. The QB situation remains fluid, with Anthony Richardson possibly returning, but Joe Flacco standing by to continue.
The Titans haven't been pulling up any trees and in a virtual pick 'em I'd rather be with Indy - Alan
Sunday - 21:05
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Chargers
- Alan: Broncos
- Jonny: Chargers
- Neil: Broncos
Moneyline: Broncos 13/10, Chargers 8/13
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Chargers
- Alan: Broncos
- Jonny: Chargers
- Neil: Broncos
Comments: We are split across the board for the clash at Mile High. I'm leaning Denver as they are at home and it will take take for Jim Harbaugh to install his type of offense.
He has a fantastic QB in Justin Herbert but we know that the new head coach will want to dominate the lime of scrimmage and run the ball down the throat of the opposition. That takes time, so give me the home team here - Neil
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Steelers
- Alan: Steelers
- Jonny: Steelers
- Neil: Raiders
Moneyline: Steelers 8/13, Raiders 13/10
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Steelers
- Alan: Steelers
- Jonny: Steelers
- Neil: Raiders
Comments: I'm going against the grain here and taking the home underdog. It isn't as though Pittsburgh roll into the desert as any sort of formiable foe. They are 2-2 on the year with three-points defeats in back-to-back weeks against Indy and Dallas. Neither of whom have showed us much yet in the young season.
Las Vegas looked terrible last time out and they have a nasty Panthers loss on their resume. Devante Adams is not expected to suit up, which is a blow to their whole offense but when two poor teams play one another, I'll nine times out of ten pick the home team - Neil
Sunday - 21:25
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Falcons
- Alan: Falcons
- Jonny: Falcons
- Neil: Falcons
Moneyline: Panthers 21/10, Falcons 2/5
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Falcons
- Alan: Falcons
- Jonny: Falcons
- Neil: Falcons
Comments: Another game where we all agree. That always makes me worry and immediately want to change my pick.
The problem with doing that though is, it'd mean backing a Carolina Panthers team who lost by 24 to a poor Chicago Bears outfit last time out. I'm just not sure that I can do that in good conscience - Neil
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Lions
- Alan: Lions
- Jonny: Lions
- Neil: Cowboys
Moneyline: Cowboys 7/5, Lions 4/7
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Lions
- Alan: Lions
- Jonny: Lions
- Neil: Cowboys
Comments: The Cowboys have numerous injuries to contend with, and haven't averaged more than four yards per carry since Week 1, which doesn't bode well for them here.
In addition, Dallas' AT&T Stadium has suddenly lost its power, as the Cowboys have now lost their last three games there following a 16-game home winning streak.
The Lions have looked like a Super Bowl contender in their 3-1 start, and will be fresh after having a bye week.
Detroit have lost their last five in Jerry World, but that comes to an end on Sunday night. - Jonny
Monday - 01:20
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Giants
- Alan: Giants
- Jonny: Bengals
- Neil: Giants
Moneyline: Giants 7/5, Bengals 4/7
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Bengals
- Alan: Giants
- Jonny: Bengals
- Neil: Giants
Comments: The Giants enjoyed a brilliant win against Seattle last week, and this match could be a potential banana skin for the Bengals.
Daniel Jones seems to have found his feet somewhat, after a difficult start to the season.
That being said, the Bengals can't fall to 1-5 here can they?! There's so much quality in the likes of Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins, but the defence has fallen apart.
If the Bengals win, it's through offensive firepower, which the Giants haven't in order to keep pace with Cincinnati. - Jonny
Tuesday - 01:15
Picks ATS:
- Adam: Jets
- Alan: Jets
- Jonny: Bills
- Neil: Bills
Moneyline: Jets 6/5, Bills 7/10
Picks Straight Up:
- Adam: Jets
- Alan: Jets
- Jonny: Bills
- Neil: Bills
Comments: Monday Night Football has an intriguing looking clash in what could be a pivotal game in a weaker than expected AFC East.
The Bills looked atrocious last week in a 23-20 loss to Houston, with star QB Josh Allen completing just NINE of 30 passes for 131 yards in a stuttering performance.
Meanwhile, the Jets travelled all the way to London to register back-to-back losses and four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers throwing three interceptions summed up their current state. That woe was amplified in midweek, as Head Coach Robert Salah was sacked and replaced by defensive co-ordinator Jeff Ulbrich in an interim capacity.
As for this game, New York will be hoping for a home boost at the Met-Life and I think they can get it in the form of an all-out rush offense, with the Bills giving up 14 yards per game against the run. - Adam
Season Records:
Against the Spread:
- Adam – 42-35
- Alan – 40-37
- Jonny – 36-41
- Neil – 39-38
Straight Up:
- Adam –43-34
- Alan – 40-37
