Week 3 of the NFL season gets underway in the early hours and all the team here are happy to see Week 2 in the rear view mirror. Upsets and surprises were certainly the name of the game last time out with none of the team even getting an 8-8 record ATS.

It was Alan who topped our mini-leaderboard going 7-9 both ATS and SU with Adam only a hair behind. Neil was a game behind with Jonny having a tough one, going 5-11 ATS and just 4-12 SU.

On to our Week 3 NFL Predictions and Picks though and will we start to doubt the presumed favourites some more? Let's find out...

Friday - 01:15

Patriots (+6.5) @ Jets

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Patriots
  • Alan: Patriots
  • Jonny: Jets
  • Neil: Patriots

Moneyline: Patriots - 11/5, Bills - 4/11

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Jets
  • Alan: Jets
  • Jonny: Jets
  • Neil: Patriots

Comments: Thursday Night Football features another AFC East rivalry and one that doesn't normally work out well for the Jets, losing every home game against the Pats since 2015.

However, I expect that to change on Thursday as Aaron Rodgers continues to find his feet at the MetLife. New England will likely go run heavy but Jacoby Brissett vs Rodgers sees me picking the two-time MVP every single time - Adam

Sunday - 18:00

Bears (+2.5) @ Colts

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Colts
  • Alan: Colts
  • Jonny: Bears
  • Neil: Colts

Moneyline: Bears - 1/1, Colts - 5/6

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Colts
  • Alan: Colts
  • Jonny: Bears
  • Neil: Colts

Comments: Strong fancy here for the Colts (you can almost hear the layers running for cover, NOT).

The Bears are the ones with a W though, and should make hay on the deck against a Colts side struggling against the run. I've a feeling however that QB Anthony Richardson is about to get hot, and so I'm with Indy - Alan

Texans (-2.5) @ Vikings

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Vikings
  • Alan: Vikings
  • Jonny: Vikings
  • Neil: Texans

Moneyline: Texans - 8/11, Vikings - 23/20

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Vikings
  • Alan: Vikings
  • Jonny: Vikings
  • Neil: Texans

Comments: Coming off beating a very strong 49ers squad, you'd think I'd be taking Minnesota here but I think this is a classic 'let down' game. They put in everything to beat San Fran a week ago and playing the Texans is certainly, on paper, an easier task.

The problem is Houston are quietly good and even on the road, with Justin Jefferson not expected to play for the hosts, I got the visitors to just about win and cover - Neil

Eagles (+2.5) @ Saints

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Saints
  • Alan: Saints
  • Jonny: Eagles
  • Neil: Saints

Moneyline: Eagles - 5/4, Saints - 4/6

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Saints
  • Alan: Saints
  • Jonny: Saints
  • Neil: Saints

Comments: This is a potential cracker and one of my favourite clashes all weekend.

The 100% Saints in particular have surprised me, and will approach this full of confidence. Philly's D isn't all that at the minute and will need to sharpen up - lucky that they've got Jalen Hurts on the other side of things to provide elite offensive impetus. Got to stick with the in-form outfit though, and there could be points ... - Alan

Chargers (+1.5) @ Steelers

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Chargers
  • Alan: Chargers
  • Jonny: Steelers
  • Neil: Steelers

Moneyline: Chargers - 11/5, Steelers - 4/11

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Chargers
  • Alan: Chargers
  • Jonny: Steelers
  • Neil: Steelers

Comments: Had to double-check the betting there, so here's daft remark number umpteen. I'd have LA as fav, though 1.5 is almost pick 'em territory after all.

Steel curtain? Not many TDs conceded so far, so there's a challenge for Justin Herbert and company - one I think he'll rise to. Kickers could be to the fore and it might not be pretty - Alan

Broncos (+6.5) @ Buccaneers

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Buccaneers
  • Alan: Buccaneers
  • Jonny: Buccaneers
  • Neil: Buccaneers

Moneyline: Broncos - 23/10, Buccaneers - 1/3

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Buccaneers
  • Alan: Buccaneers
  • Jonny: Buccaneers
  • Neil: Buccaneers

Comments: Baker Mayfield 2.0 is certainly a much better version of the former Heisman Trophy winner and when he looks one way to see Mike Evans and the other to see Chris Godwin, you can certainly see why that might help a pass-heavy QB.

Denver are still nursing-in a rookie QB and I'd bet against them even if the number was 9.5. I like the home side to win by a score plus - Neil

Packers (+2.5) @ Titans

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Packers
  • Alan: Titans
  • Jonny: Packers
  • Neil: Titans

Moneyline: Packers - 11/10, Titans - 10/13

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Packers
  • Alan: Titans
  • Jonny: Packers
  • Neil: Titans

Comments: This seems like the perfect opportunity for the Packers – their defence is ultra opportunistic, leading the league in takeaways, and Titans quarterback Will Levis can’t stop making mistakes.

Jordan Love remains a big miss at QB for the Packers, but backup Malik Wilis did a fine job last week against the Colts.

Coupled with Green Bay’s rushing game, I really fancy them on the moneyline and against the spread - Jonny

Sunday - 09:05

Panthers (+4.5) @ Raiders

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Raiders
  • Alan: Raiders
  • Jonny: Raiders
  • Neil: Raiders

Moneyline: Panthers - 2/1, Raiders - 2/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Raiders
  • Alan: Raiders
  • Jonny: Raiders
  • Neil: Raiders

Comments: If Andy Dalton is the answer to the question 'Who should be our starting QB this weekend?' then you have problems. That is exactly where we are with the Carolina Panthers, who look on course to be the worst team in the league.

They are only getting 4.5 on the road in Vegas. I'm not touching them at that price, I'd want at least double digits. This is the most inaccurate line for me of the weekend; bet the Raiders big - Neil

Dolphins (+4.5) @ Seahawks

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Seahawks
  • Alan: Dolphins
  • Jonny: Seahawks
  • Neil: Seahawks

Moneyline: Dolphins - 9/5, Seahawks - 4/9

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Seahawks
  • Alan: Dolphins
  • Jonny: Seahawks
  • Neil: Seahawks

Comments: I must admit I wasn’t expecting the Seahawks to be as good as they have been. A convincing win in Week 1 was followed up with a thrilling overtime triumph against the Patriots last time out, meaning they’re 2-0 heading into Week 3.

In addition this is probably the best time to play Miami - quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday after suffering a concussion against the Bills, knocking him out of the line-up for at least the next four games.

I think we’ll see a big game from Geno Smith, taking Seattle to 3-0 - Jonny

Sunday - 09:25

Lions (-2.5) @ Cardinals

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Lions
  • Alan: Cardinals
  • Jonny: Lions
  • Neil: Cardinals

Moneyline: Lions - 20/29, Cardinals - 1/1

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Lions
  • Alan: Cardinals
  • Jonny: Lions
  • Neil: Cardinals

Comments: The Lions’ explosive offence was neutralised by Tampa Bay last week (think Diego Simeone and Atletico Madrid in NFL terms), but they’re favourites to bounce back here against the Cardinals.

Arizona tore through the Rams, with Kyler Murray impressing, and they’ve arguably been the most surprising team through the opening two weeks of the season. Can they match Detroit’s physicality here? Not for me - Jonny

Ravens (-1.5) @ Cowboys

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Cowboys
  • Alan: Ravens
  • Jonny: Ravens
  • Neil: Cowboys

Moneyline: Ravens - 20/23, Cowboys - 20/23

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Cowboys
  • Alan: Ravens
  • Jonny: Ravens
  • Neil: Cowboys

Comments: On paper, this is the best match-up of the season and bizarrely enough, had Dallas won last week, I might lean towards the Ravens but I just can't see the Cowboys putting up two clunkers back-to-back at home. The Saints might be really good for all we know and that result may look better in a few weeks.

Both teams are coming off a home loss and even though I think Baltimore are better, I just think Dallas will have a real fire in their belly for this one - Neil

49ers (-7.5) @ Rams

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Rams
  • Alan: 49ers
  • Jonny: Rams
  • Neil: Rams

Moneyline: 49ers - 3/10, Rams - 13/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: 49ers
  • Alan: 49ers
  • Jonny: 49ers
  • Neil: 49ers

Comments: The Niners were brought back down to earth in a 23-17 defeat against the Vikings last week, after a dominating win against the Jets in Week 1.

San Francisco will be without Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey due to injuries, and although I don’t doubt that the 49ers can bounce back, their injury worries could come back to haunt them - Jonny

Monday - 01:20

Chiefs (-3.5) @ Falcons

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Chiefs
  • Alan: Chiefs
  • Jonny: Falcons
  • Neil: Chiefs

Moneyline: Chiefs - 8/15, Falcons - 6/4

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Chiefs
  • Alan: Chiefs
  • Jonny: Chiefs
  • Neil: Chiefs

Comments: How about them Chiefs? Well, actually how about them? Because despite being 2-zip at the start of the season, they have been anything but convincing. A toe and a dubious refereeing call were all that separated them from potentially losing their opening two games against the Ravens and Bengals and that Mahomes Magic has been sadly lacking thus far.

They are also without star running back Isiah Pacheco who suffered a broken fibula and will be out for up to six weeks. This may give an opportunity to undrafted rookie tank Carson Steele to lead the line.

However, this is Patrick Mahomes we are talking about and he LOVES playing indoors. In 10 career starts in domes, he is 10-0 with 23 TDS. He'll get the job done yet again here, but it might not be pretty once more - Adam

Tuesday - 00:30

Jaguars (+5.5) @ Bills

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Jaguars
  • Alan: Bills
  • Jonny: Bills
  • Neil: Bills

Moneyline: Jaguars - 2/1, Bills - 2/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Bills
  • Alan: Bills
  • Jonny: Bills
  • Neil: Bills

Comments: The Bills looked impressive against the Dolphins last Friday to move to 2-0 and now face a Jags side that have been anything but impressive, losing to Miami and Cleveland.

While Josh Allen continues to look like that perennial MVP candidate, Trevor Lawrence looks a complete shell of the no 1 draft pick that was spoken about as a potential generational talent. He has thrown for just 1 TD in his opening two outings.

This one should be high scoring but I'm taking Buffalo to win it fairly comfortably - Adam

Tuesday - 01:15

Commanders (+7.5) @ Bengals

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Commanders
  • Alan: Bengals
  • Jonny: Bengals
  • Neil: Commanders

Moneyline: Commanders - 14/5, Bengals - 2/7

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Bengals
  • Alan: Bengals
  • Jonny: Bengals
  • Neil: Bengals

Comments: Last but not least, we have the second part of the Monday Night Football double-header, where the Commanders travel to Cincinnati. The Bengals were unlucky to go 0-2 last week against the Chiefs but need to put up a more consistent performance at home on Monday.

Washington got off the mark against the Giants last week after an opening blowout loss to Tampa Bay but they will need Jayden Daniels to summon up some of that Heisman Trophy-winning talent.

Yes, he's not given up a turnover yet but he will perhaps need to take a few more risks against another LSO Heisman winner in Joe Burrow, who looked excellent in Kansas City - Adam

Season Records:

Against the Spread:

  • Adam – 18-14
  • Alan – 16-16
  • Jonny – 11-21
  • Neil – 16-16

Straight Up:

  • Adam –19-13
  • Alan – 18-14
  • Jonny – 16-16
  • Neil – 17-15
