We're approaching the business end of the regular season now as Week 17 is upon us, and teams are battling it out for this final post-season berths.
Neil had an excellent Week 16 on both fronts, scoring 10-6 against the spread (ATS) and 12-4 straight up (SU), followed by Alan and Adam, who went 10-6 and 9-7 ATS respectively, while both finishing 11-5 SU. Jonny had a week to forget ATS, going 7-9, but did slightly better picking SU, scoring 10-6.
On to our Week 17 NFL Predictions and Picks though and you can find out who we're backing below.

Wednesday - 18:00
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Chiefs
- Neil: Steelers
Moneyline: Steelers 13/10, Chiefs 8/13
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Chiefs
- Neil: Steelers
Comments: The Chiefs defence gets a little bit of a rest on Christmas Day, taking on a spluttering Steelers attack.
Patrick Mahomes didn't show any limitations due to a high ankle sprain in the victory over the Texans, and I don't see Russell Wilson outscoring him here. Mahomes has 14 touchdowns and one interception in three career starts against Pittsburgh, including the post-season.
Chiefs all day here, for me. - Jonny
Wednesday - 21:30
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Ravens
- Neil: Texans
Moneyline: Texans 2/1, Ravens 2/5
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Ravens
- Neil: Texans
Comments: Another Christmas cracker for us to enjoy on the big day. It feels like the Texans are limping towards the finish line, while the Ravens are looking to take back top spot in the AFC North.
Tank Dell could be a key miss for Houston, which may leave CJ Stroud isolated on the offence. Meanwhile, Derrick Henry is coming off a season-high 162 rushing yards against the Steelers and will take some stopping. Ravens to take this one. - Jonny
Friday - 01:15
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Seahawks
- Neil: Seahawks
Moneyline: Bears 6/4, Seahawks 8/15
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Seahawks
- Neil: Seahawks
Comments: One of my friends here at Betfred HQ saw the Chicago Bears beat my Jacksonville Jaguars in London earlier this season and enjoyed the game so much, she decided to get into the NFL and chose the winners as her team. She hasn't seen them win a game since. I'd be tempted to pick them here just because they are at home but Seattle travel well. The Seahawks are 5-1 on the road. They are just better - Neil
Saturday - 18:00
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Chargers
- Neil: Chargers
Moneyline: Patriots 9/5, Chargers 4/9
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Chargers
- Neil: Chargers
Comments: New England gave the Buffalo Bills everything they could handle last week but still came up short. My money is on that game knocking the stuffing out of a Pats team who are in the mix for the #1 overall seed. I see this being a big let-down game and the Chargers coming across the county and getting the W - Neil
Saturday - 21:30
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Bengals
- Neil: Bengals
Moneyline: Bengals 4/7, Broncos 7/5
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Bengals
- Neil: Bengals
Comments: Even at 7-8, the Bengals are still lurking as a potential play-off contender, however, they'll need to beat Denver here and require some help from other teams.
Being at home, this feels like a huge opportunity to see their longshot play-off hopes become reality. Denver have won four of their last five but it feels like Joe Burrow will see this one through for Cincinnati. - Jonny
Sunday - 01:10
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Cardinals
- Neil: Rams
Moneyline: Rams 2/5, Cardinals 2/1
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Rams
- Neil: Rams
Comments: All of a sudden, the Rams have become the favourites for the NFC West title after moving to 9-6 for the season with a win over the Jets on Sunday.
The Cardinals were eliminated from post-season contention last week, so have nothing to play for here. Arizona defeated the Rams 41-10 back in Week 2, so LA will want revenge here, and I'm expecting a comfortable win.- Jonny
Sunday - 18:00
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Colts
- Neil: Colts
Moneyline: Giants 3/1, Colts 1/4
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Colts
- Neil: Colts
Comments: The Giants have lost 10 straight games, so this looks another fairly straightforward one to predict.
It feels like New York have accepted their fate as the worst team in the NFL, and they're on course to receive the number one pick in next year's draft. Blowout win expected for the Colts. - Jonny
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Bills
- Neil: Bills
Moneyline: Bills 1/5, Jets 19/5
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Bills
- Neil: Bills
Comments: Last week I said 14.5pts was too big and I was proved right as the Bills could only squeak by New England. 9.5pts is a fairly hefty number but I really don't think much of the J-E-T-S. Give me Josh Allen to put up a vintage performance and James Cook to run all over the visitors - Neil
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Jaguars
- Neil: Jaguars
Moneyline: Jaguars 20/23, Titans 20/21
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Jaguars
- Neil: Jaguars
Comments: Jacksonville beat Tennessee 10-6 in Week 14, and the Titans have allowed a total of 75 points over the past two weeks, so this one could be a high-scoring game.
To be honest, this is a coin flip of a match and could go either way, in my opinion. Both teams are out of play-off contention, and this game will have ramifications of next year's draft more than anything else. I'm going to back the Jags and predict that the home advantage helps them edge this one. - Jonny
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Saints
- Neil: Raiders
Moneyline: Saints 5/6, Raiders 1/1
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Saints
- Neil: Raiders
Comments: Betting on the Saints to win with Spencer Rattler under Center is a real roll of the dice. I'm not saying Vegas are any good or indeed that I think Aidan O'Connell is any better but I have seen Rattler have about one good game between the pros and in college. I have zero faith in him - Neil
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Panthers
- Neil: Buccaneers
Moneyline: Buccaneers 1/4, Panthers 3/1
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Buccaneers
- Neil:Buccaneers
Comments: The Buccaneers are tied for the lead in the NFC South and have no margin for error here against a Panthers team who broke a four-game winless run last time out.
Tampa Bay needed overtime to beat the Panthers 26-23 in Week 13, and this could be another close one but the end result will be the same - Tampa Bay win. - Jonny
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Eagles
- Neil: Cowboys
Moneyline: Eagles 2/9, Cowboys 17/5
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Eagles
- Neil: Cowboys
Comments: My Cowboys pick(s) are solely based on the belief that Jalen Hurts does not pass concussion protocol. If Kenny Pickett is in this game, expect the Dallas D to be fearsome and give him a torrid time. This could be one of the upsets of the season.
Of course if Hurts' is fine and plays, ignore everything that I've just written - Neil
Sunday - 21:05
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Dolphins
- Neil: Browns
Moneyline: Browns 12/5, Dolphins 1/3
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Dolphins
- Neil: Dolphins
Comments: Miami really haven't been that great on the road this season, going 2-5. Cleveland have had another stinker of a season. That DeShaun Watson trade looked terrible the day they made it and looks worse with every spin of the Earth. I like the Browns to keep it close but the Dolphins get it done but not ATS - Neil
Sunday - 21:25
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Vikings
- Neil: Vikings
Moneyline: Vikings 5/6, Packers 1/1
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Vikings
- Neil: Vikings
Comments: This might be one of the games of the day. Actually scratch that, it really should be.
Both teams have had tremendous campaigns and are on course for the play-off. Minnesota still have a shot at the overall #1 seed. They have so many weapons and the emergence of Jordan Addison has given defenses some real issues when defending him, Justin Jefferson and TJ Hockenson. I like a close-game but the home side to squeak home - Neil
Monday - 01:20
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Commanders
- Neil: Commanders
Moneyline: Commanders 1/2, Falcons 17/10
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Commanders
- Neil: Commanders
Comments: I know it was a freak result that saw them somehow overcome giving the ball to Philadelphia on a zillion occasions but they still had the mental fortitude to win the game. I'm not sold on Michael Penix at all, although I may still be biased from Indiana's opening game in the covid season College-wise (He was short on that two-point try...).
Give me the home side and they cover - Neil
Tuesday - 01:15
Picks ATS:
- Jonny: Lions
- Neil: Lions
Moneyline: 49ers 13/8, Lions 1/2
Straight Up:
- Jonny: Lions
- Neil: Lions
Comments: The Niners have officially missed the play-offs so I'm not expecting them to pull up any trees here, although they could still make this one competitive.
Detroit need to win to fend off the Vikings for the NFC North title and the number one seed in the conference, so they aren't likely to be taking their foot off the gas. Lions take this one, for me. - Jonny
Season Records:
Against the Spread:
- Adam – 121-90
- Alan – 108-103
- Jonny – 108-103
- Neil – 100-84
Straight Up:
- Adam – 144-67
- Alan – 123-88
- Jonny – 141-70
- Neil – 110-74
