Lombardi trophy nfl super bowl

Terrifyingly, we're at Week 14 of 18 in the regular season already. It's hurtling by, as per.

Last week's outcomes; from 16 matches - and there was some pretty impressive punditry on show.

ATS  - Adam 10-6, Alan 8-8, Jonny 9-7, Neil 7-9

Straight up - Adam 14-2, Alan 11-5, Jonny 14-2, Neil 12-4

So to this week - 13 matches, given the bye week scenario, and just me, Alan, in the hot seat for some brief observations and selections.

Fri - 01:15

Packers @ Lions (-3.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Lions

Moneyline: Packers 6/4, Lions 8/15

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Lions

Comments: The red-hot NFC North, boasting some of the best records in the NFL. It's 10-on-the spin now for Detroit - what a match-up in prospect.

Sun - 18:00

Browns @ Steelers (-6.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Steelers

Moneyline: Browns 12/5, Steelers 1/3

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Steelers

Comments: Bottom plays top in the AFC North - think we know how that usually plays out.

Saints (-4.5) @ Giants

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Giants

Moneyline: Saints 4/9, Giants 9/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Saints

Comments: Struggling giants (ouch) of the NFL, hoping for a merciful end to bitterly disappointing campaigns. Small stakes for me.

Jets @ Dolphins (-6.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Jets

Moneyline: Jets 11/5, Dolphins 4/11

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Dolphins

Comments: AFC East business, and two more disappointing franchises. Miami should surely prevail but will they cover?

Jaguars @ Titans (-3.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Titans

Moneyline: Jaguars 6/4, Titans 8/15

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Titans

Comments: Basement clash between AFC South under-achievers. Tennessee perhaps marginally more convincing but we're talking millimetres. Anything could happen and no-one would be surprised.

Falcons @ Vikings (-6.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Vikings

Moneyline: Falcons 2/1, Vikings 2/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Vikings

Comments: Should be a cracker, but with Minnesota enjoying home field AND being on a superb winning streak of five they can cover, while trying to keep tabs on the Lions in the NFC North.

Panthers @ Eagles (-12.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Eagles

Moneyline: Panthers 5/1, Eagles 1/7

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Eagles

Comments: A seismic shock and then some if Philly don't dot up here, but regular readers know I hate these huge spreads. Bit early for any resting and rotation ahead of post-season tests to come, so I'm imaging a fully-tuned Eagles, feasting on Carolina with relish.

Raiders @ Buccaneers (-6.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Buccaneers

Moneyline: Raiders 12/5, Buccaneers 1/3

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Buccaneers

Comments: The Bucs won't be delighted with 6-6, but it's good enough in the NFC South for a share of top spot. Much greater incentive then than the 2-10 Raiders, and I hope that's going to show on the field.

Sun 21:05

Seahawks @ Cardinals (-2.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Seahawks

Moneyline: Seahawks 6/5, Cardinals 7/10

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Seahawks

Comments: Table-toppers in the NFC West meet in the desert for what should be a thriller.

Seattle have the MO (mentum), are tasty on the road, so I'm taking them to prevail and extend their narrow lead.

Sun 21:25

Bears @ 49ers (-3.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Bears

Moneyline: Bears 13/8, 49ers 1/2

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Bears

Comments: I can't bear to think what these two great clubs think about their progress, or lack thereof, this term. Particularly SF, who surely harboured legitimate SB hopes at the outset and find themselves 5-7, having 'enjoyed' just a handful of contributions from their outstanding running back Christian McCaffrey, injured early with an Achilles, now out completely after tearing a cruciate ligament in his right knee.

I'm going for the Bears to add to 'niners woes.

Bills (-3.5) @ Rams

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Bills

Moneyline: Bills 1/2, Rams 13/8

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Bills

Comments: Buffalo will surely welcome a bit of decidedly kinder weather at the very least, leaving the snow behind them. They're waltzing the AFC East, and can serve it up to the Rams, for whom 6-6 just about sums up their season - good in parts.

Mon - 01:20

Chargers @ Chiefs (-3.5)

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Chiefs

Moneyline: Chargers 7/4, Chiefs 4/9

Picks Straight Up:

  • Alan: Chiefs

Comments: The top two in the AFC West clash at Arrowhead. Cue Taylor Swift, and knowing the Chiefs of late, drama-aplenty.

Potentially a cracker, and no foregone conclusion. Chiefs won 17-10 in September, and appeal as the most likely winners again, but after recent narrow squeaks against modest opposition they're keeping us on our toes.

Tues - 01:15

Bengals (-5.5) @ Cowboys

Picks ATS:

  • Alan: Bengals

Moneyline:

Picks Straight Up: Bengals 2/5, Cowboys 2/1

  • Alan: Bengals

Comments: Two more would-be big-hitters, wondering where it all went wrong? Joe Brrrrrr should enjoy AT&T, and I can't see much joy here for America's team. I think the nation's citizens might be handing back their season tickets ...

Sorry it was just me this week - back to full strength in the coming days. Enjoy Week 14 in the National Football League.

Season Records:

Against the Spread:

  • Adam – 116-79
  • Alan – 101-94
  • Jonny – 105-90
  • Neil – 81-71

Straight Up:

  • Adam – 106-57
  • Alan – 92-71
  • Jonny – 106-57
  • Neil – 89-63
