NFL Prop Bets: Home comforts could secure 3/1 treble success

It seems fitting that in such a topsy-turvy NFL campaign there will be plenty of drama on the final day of the regular season. One remaining postseason spot exists in each Conference, and at least in the AFC that will be decided by the two disputing the opportunity playing each other (Steelers vs Ravens).

Things are murkier in the NFC, and the kingmakers/breakers are in fact New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons - both eliminated, but still holding the key in their hands. They meet in Georgia and if the Falcons win, then the Panthers claim the last playoff spot in the Division. If the Saints prevail, then the Tampa Bay Bucs get the ticket.

Let's see if we can mark Week 18 with a welcome success.

Falcons vs Saints - Falcons/Falcons @ 1/1

Ok - so here's the rationale. I'm hoping (famous last words etc) to end the regular season on a modest little high, so my intention has been to find what I think are three strong homefield favourites and go for them to do the necessary in the half-time/full time market - lead both at the half, and at the final whistle.

The Falcons will do battle at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and line up as around the 8/15 jolly to take this one against their NFC South rivals. Both have disappointed this term but in truth it's been a modest Division.

Surely Atlanta, fresh from beating the Rams, will have too much at home for the Saints?

Bengals vs Browns - Bengals/Bengals @ 4/7

Now for two that prop up the AFC North - another very ordinary Division, but with Cincinnati on a win streak of two and once again that important homefield advantage.

Joe Burrow threw for 305 yds last week, two TDs, no interceptions - though he was sacked on three occasions. The brilliant Ja'Marr Chase was on fine, two-TD form, and if those two in particular had operated in tandem as we know they can, notwithstanding injury woes, they could have enjoyed a more auspicious time overall. Browns to be put to the sword.

Texans vs Colts - Texans/Texans @ 4/11

If Houston take this and the Jags lose to the Titans, the Texans take the AFC South. If they win but that second element doesn't come to pass they'll be guaranteed no worse than a fifth-seed spot.

They're in whatever happens, but I'm hoping they'll want to grab as a high a place as possible, depending on those other results. The Texans have won their last EIGHT on the bounce - while the Colts have lost their last SIX. Go figure, as they say on occasion in those parts ...

Falcons/Falcons; Benglas/Bengals; Texans/Texans
