Jets vs Steelers Predictions: Adams to make an immediate impression

The New York Jets are running out of time to get into a rhythm as they look to end their play-off drought, and they face a difficult trip to the Acrisure Stadium when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (Monday, 01:20, Sky Sports Main Event). 

Robert Saleh lost his job as the Jets head coach before last week's 23-20 defeat to the Buffalo Bills, leaving Gang Green with a 2-4 record in the AFC East. Pittsburgh's play-off push is on track after a 4-2 start, but the Jets made big moves in the week, adding wide receiver Davante Adams to their ranks in a reunion with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

New York Jets cornerbacks Michael Carter II and DJ Reed are expected to miss Monday's game, while Tyler Conklin, Will McDonald IV and Morgan Moses were limited in practice this week. 

Pittsburgh trio Zach Frazier, Nick Herbig, and Cordarrelle Patterson all did not practise this week, while Damontae Kazee, Dylan Cook, and Roman Wilson were limited.

Despite having home advantage, the Pittsburgh Steelers are 11/10 outsiders on Monday morning, while the New York Jets are priced at 10/13 on the Money Line. 

The Jets are 20/21 to cover the -1.5 handicap, while those who fancy a high-scoring game can back Over 38.5 points at 10/11. 

Jets running back Breece Hall is the favourite to score a touchdown anytime, available at 1/1.

When the New York Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers, they hoped he would be the answer to all of their problems. 

The veteran missed his first season in New York due to an Achilles injury, and he has been unable to turn his team's fortunes around this year.  

Jeff Ulbrich will now be tasked with leading the team to the play-offs as interim head coach, and he will need to change the Jets' fortunes after some narrow defeats. 

The Jets have lost their last three games by six points or fewer, but they missed two crucial field goals against the Bills that would have won them the game. 

Todd Downing has now been named the play-caller on offence, and that looked to make a huge difference last week. 

The Jets were not as predictable on offence, and they face a Steelers team who appear to have made a quarterback change. 

Justin Fields started the campaign at QB, but Russell Wilson is now healthy to return. While he has more experience, Wilson offers less of a threat as a runner, which is the Jets' main weakness. 

Unless Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is playing mind games, Wilson is starting on Monday, while he is also expected to name his fifth different offensive line due to injuries. 

The Jets should be able to capitalise on that and breathe life into their season. 

Davante Adams Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ 6/4

The arrival of Adams has given everyone a huge boost in New York, and his relationship with Rodgers is unrivalled. 

Adams is expected to shake off a hamstring injury and start, and he should be able to rebuild that bond with Rodgers from the off. During their time together at the Green Bay Packers, Adams was targeted 8.6 times on average per game and if they get near the red zone, expect Rodgers to look for his reliable weapon.
