Bears vs Lions Predictions: Detroit to continue NFC dominance

The first game of the Week 13 schedule takes place on Thanksgiving as the Chicago Bears travel to the Detroit Lions.
Read on for my Bears vs Lions predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.
Detroit have only lost once at Ford Field this season, and that is the only blemish on their record. Dan Campbell's team are 10-1 in 2024 so far, while Chicago's playoff hopes are fading after they fell to 4-7 on Sunday after another defeat.
Thursday's game will take place at 17:30 GMT on Sky Sports Main Event, and it is one of three games taking place on Thanksgiving, with the New York Giants facing the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers hosting the Miami Dolphins.
Team News
Bears guard Bill Murray is hoping to return from IR, but defensive tackle Andrew Billings and safety Jaquan Brisker are both sidelined until December. Centre Ryan Bates and safety Elijah Hicks are listed as questionable and are expected to return.
The Lions have had to deal with numerous injuries so far this season, with 15 of their roster on IR at present.
Running back David Montgomery, wide receivers Amon-Ra St.Brown and Kalif Raymond, offensive tackle Taylor Decker, defensive tackle DJ Reader and cornerback Carlton Davis III are all listed as questionable.

The Lions are heavy 2/11 favourites for this clash at home, while they are -9.5 favourites on the handicap at 20/23.
Montgomery is the favourite to score anytime at 1/2, while fellow back Jahmyr Gibbs is priced at 8/15 to score his 11th touchdown of the season.
Lions -9.5 @ 20/23
Only two teams have 10-1 records this season, the Lions and reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
While the Bears have lost five games in a row, the Lions have won nine on the spin and they are outclassing anybody they take on.
Campbell's team have won by an average of 19.6 points per game during their nine-game winning streak and they are the top-scoring offence in the NFL, recording 32.7 points per game so far.
The Bears have improved in recent weeks, losing by no more than three points in two weeks, but they struggle to get over the line and will fall short this week.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Over 48.5 Points @ 10/11
The Bears have improved offensively since firing offensive coordinator Shane Waldron and replacing him with Thomas Brown.
Brown's hire brought out the best in quarterback, Caleb Williams, and they scored at least 19 points in their last two defeats.
Backing the overs line is usually the way to go when the Lions are in town, with Detroit scoring 47 points in three of their previous seven wins, while they have scored 24 points or more in nine of their 11 games to date.
Detroit have outclassed the likes of the Minnesota Vikings, Packers and Houston Texans in recent weeks, and all three teams will claim they are in better shape than the Bears, so expect another thrilling affair.
