Week 8 of the season for the NFL tipsters here at Betfred Insights went rather swimmingly.

Straight up, everyone recorded at least a 10-6 record with Adam coming out on top going 12-4. When picking looking Against the Spread, again the team can be pleased with two guys (Jonny & Neil) going 10-6 and no-one doing worse than 8-8.

Four teams have a bye this week, so there are 14 games to cover including one of two games this season in Germany. That game takes place in the 14:30 GMT window.

Bye Teams: 49ers, Broncos, Jaguars & Lions.

Week 9 NFL Picks & Predictions:

Friday - 12:15AM:

Game 1: Titans (+2.5) @ Steelers

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Titans
  • Alan: Titans
  • Jonny: Steelers
  • Neil: Steelers

Money Line: Steelers 20/29 & Titans 6/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Titans
  • Alan: Titans
  • Jonny: Steelers
  • Neil: Steelers

Comments: I'm not sure we are exactly at Will Levis-mania type levels yet in Nashville but it was certainly a more than encouraging debut for the former Kentucky and Penn State man. Plenty thought he'd go early in the first-round but he dropped to Day 2. He has a big arm and can chuck it deep but his first start on the road will not be easy.

I don't think Pittsburgh are any good but I think they'll make it a really tough day for the new QB. Give me the Steelers in a low-scorer - Neil

Sunday - 14:30 (in Germany):

Game 2: Dolphins (+2.5) @ Chiefs

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Chiefs
  • Alan: Chiefs
  • Jonny: Dolphins
  • Neil: Dolphins

Money Line: Chiefs 7/10 & Dolphins 6/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Chiefs
  • Alan: Chiefs
  • Jonny: Chiefs
  • Neil: Dolphins

Comments: The NFL fans in Germany have certainly got a cracker to look forward to - two of the best offenses in the entire league going head-to-head.

That being said, who thought the Chiefs would lose to Denver last week? The same team that Miami scored 70 points against in September.

Miami did get back in the win column themselves last week, and for all the plaudits they've received for their offensive prowess, I'm still not convinced by their defense.

I think this one will be close, which is why I've backed the Dolphins to cover, but I just can't see Kansas City losing again after that embarrassing defeat last week. - Jonny

Sunday - 18:00:

Game 3: Vikings (+4.5) @ Falcons

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Falcons
  • Alan: Vikings
  • Jonny: Vikings
  • Neil: Falcons

Money Line: Falcons 4/9 & Vikings 9/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Falcons
  • Alan: Vikings
  • Jonny: Falcons
  • Neil: Falcons

Comments: If Kirk Cousins was healthy, I'd be right on the fence. If Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson were healthy, I'd be picking the Vikings. Both are out and with Minnesota trading for Joshua Dobbs to run the offense, it will be a tough task to go on the road and win, even if I don't think Atalanta are all that - Neil

Game 4: Seahawks (+5.5) @ Ravens

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Seahawks
  • Alan: Ravens
  • Jonny: Seahawks
  • Neil: Ravens

Money Line: Ravens 4/11 & Seahawks 11/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Ravens
  • Alan: Ravens
  • Jonny: Ravens
  • Neil: Ravens

Comments: These are two sides that have impressed early doors.

The Ravens are currently top of the AFC North, while Seattle sit top of the pile in the NFC West. The Seahawks are entering this game off the back of a hard-fought 24-20 win at home over the Cleveland Browns, while Baltimore stuck 31 points on the Cardinals last time out.

I think this is another close matchup, which is why I'm taking Seattle to cover. They're aiming for a third consecutive win here, and are 2-1 on the road this season.

However, I do think they'll have their hands full trying to slow down Lamar Jackson, who seems to have got Baltimore firing in the past few weeks. - Jonny

Game 5: Cardinals (+8.5) @ Browns

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Cardinals
  • Alan: Cardinals
  • Jonny: Browns
  • Neil: Browns

Money Line: Browns 1/4 & Cardinals 3/1

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Browns
  • Alan: Browns
  • Jonny: Browns
  • Neil: Browns

Comments: The Browns saw their two-game win streak snapped by Seattle, but this is a huge opportunity for them to get back into the win column here.

The Cardinals have lost their last five, and haven't even looked close to winning since they beat the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3.

One of the more straightforward games this week for me - it's difficult not to see the Browns cover, and ultimately win. - Jonny

Game 6: Rams (+3.5) @ Packers

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Rams
  • Alan: Packers
  • Jonny: Rams
  • Neil: Rams

Money Line: Packers 8/13 & Rams 13/10

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Rams
  • Alan: Packers
  • Jonny: Rams
  • Neil: Rams

Comments: I'm surprised that the Packers are favourites for this game, to be honest.

Sure, the Rams have struggled recently, but I still think they're a better football team than Green Bay. LA are still within striking distance of a playoff berth, so they need this win.

The Packers, realistically, needed to beat Minnesota last week to keep their playoff hopes alive, and they didn't come close. They're on a four-game losing streak for a reason.

I'm taking the Rams here, all day (famous last words). - Jonny

Game 7: Buccaneers (+2.5) @ Texans

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Texans
  • Alan: Texans
  • Jonny: Buccaneers
  • Neil: Buccaneers

Money Line: Texans 4/6 & Buccaneers 5/4

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Texans
  • Alan: Texans
  • Jonny: Buccaneers
  • Neil: Buccaneers

Comments: Two 3-4 sides clash in Houston, and unsurprisingly there’s little to choose between the two in the market.

We’re in Texas so it’s the home side who are the 2.5 point spread fav, and they appeal to me as the likeliest winner. Several of their defeats have been in matches they were highly competitive in, but to be fair exactly the same comment applies to Tampa Bay.

I note a total set at around 40.5, so limited-ish offense is seen as more likely than not. It’s likely to be tight - Alan

Game 8: Commanders (+3.5) @ Patriots

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Patriots
  • Alan: Commanders
  • Jonny: Commanders
  • Neil: Commanders

Money Line: Patriots 8/15 & Commanders 6/4

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Patriots
  • Alan: Commanders
  • Jonny: Patriots
  • Neil: Commanders

Comments: As a massive Penn State fan, seeing Jahan Dotson finally have a great game this season for Washington brought joy to my heart. What didn't was the fact I lost my fantasy matchup and his 27.5 points on the bench would have won it for me. Still this isn't the place to air my fantasy NFL gripes.

What was key is seeing the Commanders once more go toe-to-toe with the Eagles deep into the game. Seeing the Pats as favourites (even at home) feels all sort of strange considering how poor they've looked this year. I can't back them. I just can't - Neil

Game 9: Bears (+7.5) @ Saints

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Bears
  • Alan: Saints
  • Jonny: Saints
  • Neil: Saints

Money Line: Saints 2/7 & Bears 11/4

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Saints
  • Alan: Saints
  • Jonny: Saints
  • Neil: Saints

Comments: New Orleans Saints did me a favour last week and dragged themselves to 4-4 into the bargain, beating the Colts. They will surely be licking their lips at the prospect of Chicago rolling into the Superdome at weekend.

The Bears are 2-6 right now, and arrive fresh from a comfortable reverse in LA against the Chargers. QB Tyson Bagent, standing in for Justin Fields, threw interceptions and crucially no TDs. He’ll be hoping for better in The Big Easy.

Saints should cover for me - Alan

Sunday - 21:05:

Game 10: Colts (-2.5) @ Panthers

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Colts
  • Alan: Panthers
  • Jonny: Colts
  • Neil: Colts

Money Line: Panthers 5/4 & Colts 4/6

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Colts
  • Alan: Panthers
  • Jonny: Colts
  • Neil: Colts

Comments: The Panthers will not go 0-16 after a tight two-point win on Sunday saw them get the first win of the Bryce Young era (which I actually had in our Week 8 Picks). They don't have much going for them outside of his connection with veteran Adam Thielen, which is proving very fruitful.

What swayed it for me though was seeing Jonathan Taylor starting to round into tip-top form. After a hold-out saw his season start late, the Running Back is starting to look like one of the very best around the league once more. Give me Indy on the road - Neil

Sunday - 21:25:

Game 11: Giants (+2.5) @ Raiders

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Giants
  • Alan: Giants
  • Jonny: Giants
  • Neil: Giants

Money Line: Raiders 8/11 & Giants 23/20

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Giants
  • Alan: Giants
  • Jonny: Raiders
  • Neil: Giants

Comments: This is not a game I want to see on TV. Two abject teams and even the expected return of Daniel Jones for New York isn't exactly something worth celebrating. Having seen their offense without even a serviceable QB last week though, they'll take what they can get. This is going to be a terrible game but give me Saquon and Daniel Jones...just - Neil

Game 12: Cowboys (+3.5) @ Eagles

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Eagles
  • Alan: Eagles
  • Jonny: Eagles
  • Neil: Cowboys

Money Line: Eagles 4/7 & Cowboys 7/5

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Eagles
  • Alan: Eagles
  • Jonny: Eagles
  • Neil: Cowboys

Comments: One of the matches of the weekend. Two NFC giants clash at Lincoln Financial, in the City of Brotherly Love.

It’s the 7-1 Eagles – that shock reverse was a few weeks ago against the Jets – while Dallas are a decent 5-2. Both unsurprisingly dominate the NFC East.

A mere 3.5 point spread indicates the odds compilers view this as a highly competitive affair in theory, but the Eagles have more convincing offensive stats, passing and rushing.

Cowboys come into their own though on points allowed per game – and Philadelphia did ship 31 against the Commanders last week. Tough call – but it’s the Eagles for me - Alan

Monday - 01:20:

Game 13: Bills (+2.5) @ Bengals

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Bengals
  • Alan: Bengals
  • Jonny: Bills
  • Neil: Bills

Money Line: Bengals 4/6 & Bills 5/4

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Bengals
  • Alan: Bengals
  • Jonny: Bills
  • Neil: Bills

Comments: Proper toss-up game this one as finally Joe Burrow looks 100% healthy and that changes the way their whole offense runs. With him able to trust his knee, they are a match for anyone and we saw how good they can be by going into San Fran and beating the team I think are the best in the league.

Yet as you'll have seen, I've gone with Buffalo. Josh Allen and co seem get themselves up when they are facing really good teams and seem to sleepwalk through lower-quality opponents. Honestly this is a game I'd not want to bet on in a million years as a blowout win or close game either way would not shock me but I'll take the small underdog - Neil

Tuesday - 01:15

Game 14: Chargers (-3.5) @ Jets

Picks ATS:

  • Adam: Chargers
  • Alan: Jets
  • Jonny: Chargers
  • Neil: Chargers

Money Line: Jets 13/10 & Chargers 8/13

Picks Straight Up:

  • Adam: Chargers
  • Alan: Jets
  • Jonny: Chargers
  • Neil: Chargers

Comments: Who’d have thought the Jets would have a better record going into this than their opponent? Big fan of the job coach Robert Salah is doing at MetLife, especially after losing Aaron Rodgers so cruelly in week one.

Staunch admirer too of Chargers’ QB Justin Herbert (top 6 for passing yards), and on their day they’re a match for anyone.

MetLife can be the cauldron where the Jets improve that promising record even further ….. but it’s surely going to be close - Alan

Season Records:

Against the Spread:

  • Adam: 58-64
  • Alan: 62-60
  • Jonny: 64-58
  • Neil: 65-57

Straight Up:

  • Adam: 70-52
  • Alan: 77-45
  • Jonny: 71-51
  • Neil: 71-51
